Well, we think it's a puppy. We hear soft cries coming from under our house every once in a while, and pepper spends a majority of her time under there. Today I went to go into the backyard and she nearly trampled me when she tried to get in front of me so she could get under the house. We can't crawl under there to get it, so any suggestions?

Flood it...if it is a puppy, it'll swim out.

Just one puppy?

That would be odd.

well, odd if maybe it was preggers...but not if she found it. You know how dogs can get, all paternal and whatnot

Get many people, and drag the dog out by force, and lock it inside the house.

THEN go check if it's a puppy.

None of the dogs in the neighborhood have been prego, and pepper is not paternal at all. After the pup is a few weeks old she weens them, even if it's too early.

She's had many puppies before but this time only one if her teats (if that's what you call them) look like they are being nursed on.

We can't get under the house at all, we're too fat
And my brother, the only one small enough to get under the house, refuses to go under the house to get the pup. Do you think pepper (the dog) will bring the puppy out herself?

Yeah I know, I'm just worried pepper will leave it under there to die. She's never been a good mom-to any of her puppies.
