Steve...I need a full course in Contemporary Modern Post-War Post-Industrial British culture and the terms used therein. I'm sad to admit that what I've learned comes from Mr. Bean, Monty Python and Fr. Ted.

We have either primary school (Grades 1-6) or Infant School (Grades 1-3) and Junior School (Grades 4-6). I went to primary school because I rawk.

Some American cities have only Elementary/Grade School (Grades K- 8) and High School (Grades 9- 12). I had Grade School (Grades K- 5), Middle School/Junior High (Grades 6- 8), and High School (Grades 9- 12). The system is a little too complex. I don't see what's so special about Middle School students that they need a separate school.

My school experience has been primary school (Years R-6), secondary school (Years 7-11) and sixth form (Years 12 and 13). Then it's on to uni.

When I went...our Catholic system had a massive changeover. So Elementary School went from K-8 and High School went from 9-12. ...and if you're living in Ontario, you had to go through Grade 13 before being accepted into college.
