I loved Camus's 'the outsider', people think sartre was the first existentialist but i think nietzsche was a precursor of it. People assume nietzsche was a nihilist, even though he critiscised christianity as being a nihilist religion.

Nietzsche ain't no nihilist! Have you read the plague by Camus, I think it's (even) better than the outsider.

Racialist?!?!?! who said he was racialist! he hated anti-semites, but hitler took his intepretation of the 'superman' and the 'blonde beast' in a different way so throughout history he was associated with nazi idealogies.

Nietzsche wasn't a racist. His ubermensch theory was about the individual, not any one race. Hitler twisted it.

freud was a basic philosopher, a thought before more critical thought. His student Carl Jung is a more respectable psychologist then freud, but freud was whack so he is more famous XD

Whilst we're on the subject of Philosophy, my philosophy homework is to write an essay entitled "What is philosophy?" I would be very grateful if anybody has any quotes to help with this.

My friend is doing Nietzche for his A level german coursework and is getting a load of hassle because his teacher can't be arsed to read the book.
