So a few months ago a 6th grade class in Topeka. had to do this. The teacher learned that a student was pregnant and was planning on aborting the child, so she made the whole class write a letter from the fetus telling the mother how it wants to survive. Crazy, no?
I just finished attending a sexual awareness event--man did it last long. It kind of makes me happy I'm in the situation I'm in because I don't have to worry about domestic abuse.
I'm ill, still. Fever, chills, vomiting. Very blah. The worst part is that tomorrow I have to walk quite a ways. Blah.
Also the Minnesota trip keeps falling apart. Jen can't come any more, so right now it's just Mina and myself. Who knows who of my other friends may come. :( I hope that SOMEONE can come. I don't want to go alone.

Yes :( I need to get out, you know? I haven't had time to changne anything other then my underwear. It's so sad. I'm so freaking busy now. I know, it's crazy. My prof's kid wrote "I have no brain. I don't care what you do to me" and was promptly suspended for 2 days. Um...yay?

That's horrible! I mean, I am not like "yay, go get it abortions b/c you were too stupid or lazy to do BC right" or anything... but the humiliation to this girl, and then suspending b/c there was not an overly sympathetic answer, or an answer the teacher didn't like?! I would be talking to school district supervisors!

That's just it. Why would anyone want to humilate a 6th grader WHO IS PG? I mean seriously, wouldn't she be having enough trauma? The prof's kid is great. She's just like her mom in that sense. Very outspoken. The strange part is that the teacher read the "letters" outloud and when she got to the prof's kid, she started to say how terrible it was.

haha. i think its a good idea to do that. just to provoke thought. the suspending the kid was kinda odd though. u'd think the kids parents might be also pro-choice if the kid was and they might no be too happy to have their kid suspended like that.

To 6th graders though? It seems kind of...wrong. At least to me. It seems like, "Yes. Here we are all pro-life and you must think like us." I just really feel bad for the pregnant girl.

outspoken rocks... I think I have properly placed outspoken-ness... er, ya... what ever the hell that means. She read it out loud!? ugggggggggggggggggh, this honestly aggrivates me!!! this was a public school, right!? *slightly furious!* to provoke thought might have been one thing, but in this manner, and at that time- so inappropriate.

I bet that would get you suspended too, missy! ;) Most of them were, "Dear Mommy: Please don't kill me. I love you. "

Of course public school although I'm sure Topeka has some private. My prof was more then ticked. She called the school and they said it was okay. This happened a few weeks ago, and I was just thinking about it today for some reason. Off topic: if my suitemate's phone doesn't stop ringing, I swear I'm going to just let the batteries run low. It rings 24/7 nearly every 5 minutes.

It'll happen somewhere near you I'm sure. I can't imagine what the pg girl went through though. No guilt trips at all.

I hate public schools. One of my best friends was practically forced to drop out of school by his dad and the school's principal, even though he didn't want to. He didn't want to!
