still rewatching mad men, halfway through season six now.
i really love how it introduces new characters, it's been a joy seeing the people you come to know and love intimately just randomly being part of the office scenery or having one seemingly unconnected scene before turning up again

I have lost my remote control to my tv so I haven't been able to watch mad men for a couple days!

it is so good and I'm kinda jonesing for it. I don't think I have ever been as attracted to an actor as I am Jon Hamm. what a sexy sexy man, damn
2 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Sunday 5/22/16 - 12:48:16 PM EST (GMT-5)
I don't get the Jon Hamm thing, but I haven't seen Mad Men. Is it his character in that, because I don't find him attractive at all in the few other things I've seen him in.
2 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Sunday 5/22/16 - 12:51:21 PM EST (GMT-5)
oh dear I think he's attractive as is. so far the mad men character is just a powerful broody sexy man. (I'm not hat far into the show)

There was a whole thread about it! Shak discovered it and then a few people watched it. But yeah, shame on your IRL friends for keeping it secret.

Goddammit.

I spent a month checking back on YouThink, and my only legacy gets renewed by someone else.

Anyways, I'm watching Game of Thrones (bad fan fiction), Silicon Valley (cringy comedy), and Turn (somewhat cringy fan fiction).

Finally caught up with The Vampire Diaries. Not a bad season, all things considered - especially with the main actress gone. I'm glad that I got caught up.

Nothing's been tickling my fancy the past few weeks.

I'll be watching season 2 of Bloodline on Netflix this weekend.

People with cable subscriptions (HBO, Showtime, AMC, etc): is there anything new this year that's shaping up to be The Next Great Drama?

Supernatural marathon! Loving the rewatch, though I'm still only in season 2 at the moment.

I decided to give Colony a go. It's alright. A lot of poor acting, but it keeps me entertained

I'm so infatuated with mad men!

I love the shocking things they do that make me go "wow it really isn't like that anymore". like the daughter mixing drinks for her parents, you know. I just saw an episode that literally made my jaw drop in kind of disgust! it has been the worst part so far! when don buys his new Cadillac, and takes the family for a picnic and when it is time to go home he tosses his empty beer can. then Betty flings all the trash off of her blanket and just leaves it. oh man I was just so taken back, heh. it was a fitting scene to show him making sure his kid's hands weren't dirty before entering the new car. it was like hey I don't give a sht about this beautiful park, I only care about this shiny vehicle I bought.

I'd like to get my mom into it. She would've been around Bobby's age at the time and I wonder if she'd think it was funny to see all those outdated cultural norms.

it was this episode that I feel Betty broke. the end of her vomiting in the car on the way home from having drinks and realizing he is having an affair. she had been so afraid of it, and had been hinted at it by even her closest friend. the next episode (I'm watching as I type this right now) shows her completely spin out after perfectly hosting a dinner party and being the perfect wife.

Betty is one of my favorites (I like Betty, Joan and Peggy! the women!) I feel so much for her.

her connection to Glenn, like her inner child that controls her. don had even said he felt like he was living with a child and I think Glenn shows her raw childlike innocence and how naive she can be.

January is great as Betty. I'm glad you see her pain and repression.

Almost everyone was perfectly cast on that show. Maybe someone from season 5+ that I have an issue with, but we'll wait on discussing that until you get there.
