Chronicles of Amber, with the Game of Thrones budget. 3or4 seasons should cover it.

American Tabloid on three seasons, not just one.

hyperion.

first season is 6 90 minute episodes, each one a different one of the pilgrim's stories from the first book.
second season is like 20 45 minute episodes covering the second book

The Arnie movie?

harry potter

7 seasons, each episode is a chapter (which means there'd be complications in the later books, but this is a fantasy dammit!) and nothing cut out of the books, nothing added, just a visual retelling of the story

I think it's time that someone tried to re-tell the Holmes stories of Arthur Conan Doyle in a contemporary setting.

I'm surprised that no one has given it a go yet.

It's almost as though the stories have been forgotten.

Or Sherlock Holmes as a vampire and Watson being Freud's alter ego.

How about a separate Aliens (xenomorph) and Predator (yautja) anime series, both from the pov of respective aliens, each season finale is a 4-episode cross-over. When both series end, AvP anime series taked off

I don't think I've seen this many "turn off" in one sentence.

a tv show in which abzurd is trapped in a mysterious labyrinthine house and every room he goes in is just playing anime 24/7 on giant wallscreens and as he voyages through the house he meets various anime nerds who just talk to him about anime nonstop and seem completely disinterested and even confused about any other subject and also the show is an anime

A TV show that shows the events of the French Revolution in depth. It would actually make a really amazing TV show. It NEEDS all the hours, all the seasons. People try to make films or miniseries but it just doesn't work. We need 10 seasons of the French Revolution.

Or more. It could be something like those soap operas that have been running on TV since the 60s. God, maybe we could just KEEP traveling through time in the show and see how far we can get.

I want it to be stylish too. Make it styliiiiiiiiish.
Like...if we could have Hannibal-like art direction but not like Hannibal. You KNOW what I mean.

And make it dark and dramatic but with a sense of humor.

Pleaaaase.

Conan the Barbarian series.
Film it so it looks like it was made to go along with the movie in the 80's.
Crom that would be awesome

i would like to watch this if it was made in french
it bothers me so much watching stuff set in other countries but everyone is speaking english
so i guess it'd have to be made for french tv, and i don't know the quality of their tv stuff, or it'd be pretty radical and kinda weird if HBO or someone with that kinda money and commitment to high profile tv made it but had everything in french and french actors and just showed it in america

Isn't the common explanation for that kind of stuff that they're actually speaking in their own language but you're just hearing it translated into English?

I mean, it's a giant cop-out but still.

yeah i can just about accept in in sci fi but in historical stuff it's just jarring for me

i mean i guess it's what you're used to, and i'm pretty ok with magical translating words appearing at the bottom of my screen telling me what people are saying rather than them just speaking in another language

What about stuff set in Roman times, skyfish?
DOES IT BOTHER YOU when everyone's speaking English?

Or in England but during old or middle English times? Would you like all the actors to learn old English?

Usually I look at things the way Ongooshk mentioned. It's a cop-out but it's what we do.

(but, you know, I often end up watching French dubbed versions of things that take place in France...but you hate dubbing. Just saaaying, I get both sides.)

It'd actually be REALLY cool if people would produce stuff in old or middle English. Or latin. I'd see that sh*t in a heartbeat. But I can do the whole, "Well, this is the thing translated into [modern] English".

If the show is good, I don't care what language it's in

In that case, you should watch Riget. It's the Danish show from whom they made Kingdom Hospital.
