It's been forever since I've watched a scripted sit-com, but this one is fantastic. I'm not Jewish and I didn't grow up in Philadelphia, but despite that I still feel like I can totally relate to this family. The 80s thing helps, though all the continuity issues can be a distraction (I'm the kind of nerd who'll notice that a certain movie hadn't come out yet that they're referencing, but whatever).

All of the characters are fantastic, but I think my faves are Barry and Murray.

Since I love the show so much, I'm sure it means that it won't get renewed past this season.

I was quite surprised to find myself enjoying this, I only initially checked it out because Patton Oswalt was narrating and I think he's great.

I love this show. I think it will get renewed. I like sitcoms as long as they aren't the type that is accompanied by cheesy audience laughter at moments that aren't even funny.

For starters, the show is situated in the 80's. We are already half way there to me liking it. And I think this has true humor. I think a lot of sitcoms are cheesy...not this one. I also like how the situations are real. Real life situations in TV and movies are the best.

My favorite character is Beverly...the smother. Hahaha

And having grown up in the 80s makes it even funnier.

Laughed my head off at the entire Goonies episode.

"And why would pirates build a water slide?"

Is it funny? I watched the first I think 6 episodes and then I stopped. Maybe I don't knowthe era, maybe it's too scripted/canned, maybe too American *shrug*
.

Yes, I do think it is funny. And I do think it is very American. I guess because I grew up in that time period is why I find it humorous. I can kind of relate to some of the things.

I'm going to have to re-watch that episode I fell asleep on. I got to the part where they went up into the attic...so the very beginning. The problem is I watch it On Demand and it won't let me fast forward through commercials on that channel.

Yeah, I think the humour is probably a little too American to translate.

Really enjoyed the hockey episode, too. I like how with all the laughs they mix in a bit of heart each ep as well.
