People who know will know what i'm talking about when i say "what the HELL netflix??"

netflix.. i thought you were my friend.
That was a crappy cliffhanger to leave us on.

other than that, I really, super much enjoyed the poo out of this show
kevin spacey and robin wright are so excellent in it
and the thread of intrigue... man.. wow.

did anyone else watch it yet?

If you're in the process of watching it: beware cliffhanger. Try to space it out more, don't devour it, bc lord knows when we'll get the next installment.

I haven't gotten to the end yet. I have been trying to take it slow.

That said, I love this show so much. Everyone in it is amazing.

I'm halfway through it.
I was very enthusiastic when watching episode 1. Robin Wright had a great Lady MacBeth moment.

Now I'm getting slightly bored. The Philadelphia congressman is announcing his run for governor and I find that character boring.

Also, the Zoe character reminded me of Rooney Mara, same speech patterns. Turns out the actress is Mara's older sister. I was plesantly surprised.

Now I have a celebrity sisters fantasy.

Ok. Finished season 1.
While I maintain there is a more boring couple of episodes halway through (but necessary for what is building up) the way this is going is fantastic.

Doug Stamper is a great character.

i'm four episodes in and loving the heck out of it
i gotta say though:

kevin spacey being machiavellian and conspiring and breaking the fourth wall: completely awesome
super ambitious all about eve reporter being machiavellian: completely awesome
bald troubled politician having a semblance of a conscious and being bald and troubled: pretty good, i like him!
kevin spacey's wife being mundanely machiavellien with some charity: holy f*ck so boring get the f*ck out of my face

seriously i am this close to just skipping those bits only i suspect it'll all play into other plot things later
3 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Thursday 2/13/14 - 5:43:19 PM EST (GMT-5)
also the new season is way close, so i won't have too long to hold on when i get to the cliffhanger!
3 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Thursday 2/13/14 - 5:47:28 PM EST (GMT-5)
wait, it's released TOMORROW
get hype!

i won't even be caught up!
3 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Thursday 2/20/14 - 9:21:15 PM EST (GMT-5)
I guess I will do spoilers, because people are on different episodes.
I finished season 2.
I am going to watch it all again. It's the kind of show where I don't feel like I have a grasp on who everyone is for a while. People are introduced and I'm like, wait, who is she again? the chief of staff? or what? who's that guy again? etc.
I hear a third season is ordered. I wonder what he can aspire to next???

Also, spoiler for season 2:
I love that my least favorite character, Zoe, was killed off RIGHT AWAY. ha!

Anyhoo.

Trying this again...

I am pissed that they killed Doug. I understand Rachel was scared that he was going to hurt her and everything, but they shouldn't have killed him. I didn't care so much last season when they killed Russo, but I really liked Stamper's character!

Sorry for the 3rd post, but I also hated the

3-some between the Underwoods and Meachum.

It was creepy and unrealistic.

I loved that scene because it DID seem realistic. It's as true a reflection of Frank and Claire's relationship as I can think of.

Because it happens in what SEEMS like an organic way, but when you look back on it, it's clear that Claire is in charge from the first drink she pours Meechum, driving everything to that conclusion. And it's clear that Claire and Frank have either discussed the possibility, or done something similar in the past, by the seamless way he just goes with what happens. It shows them both, having total understanding and awareness (and control) of the situation, where the involved 3rd party thinks it's just "what's happening." It perfectly sums up their relationship with each other and others.

I agree that they have a rather...unorthodox relationship, but Meachum was the most unrealistic for me. It just...COMPLETELY threw me off. I was expecting him and Claire to get it on, but including Frank was just...weird to me. And Meachum kind of started it by rubbing Frank's hand. It was just weird for me.
3 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Wednesday 2/26/14 - 4:17:17 PM EST (GMT-5)
I'd argue that's at least part of the point.

You didn't expect what happened, but when you review those scenes, it's clear that the whole thing was orchestrated, planned, and controlled. You get no breaking the fourth wall explanation from Frank (as you would often get when he/they are manipulating someone), so it's one of the few times it feels like the Underwoods have gotten something over on the audience, as well. It's a great way to show that no matter what you THINK you know about the Underwoods, you've really only seen the tip of the iceberg, w/r/t just how manipulative they actually are, and how easy it is.

I liked the season.

Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright are fantastic, as always. Also shoutout to Lars Mikkelsen as the Putin-type guy.

I'm getting ready to start Episode 8. I really like this season so far!

The sand art thing with the monks...that was BEAUTIFUL!
2 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Monday 3/9/15 - 10:49:59 PM EST (GMT-5)
where are they gonna go now

i mean like... he's done right? there's nothing else to do

whats next for frank underwood

are we gonna see supreme leader president for life frank underwood by the end of season 4
2 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Tuesday 4/7/15 - 10:20:46 PM EST (GMT-5)
I stretched the season out, so just finished.

Obviously S4 will be the final one. 13 eps per season, 13 cards in each suit, 4 suits to a deck. And Frank's world is going to crash, because obviously...House of Cards.

I think we'll see Claire, Remy, and Jackie working together, cause there's no way Remy is REALLY done with everything, especially after that last scene with Jackie: "It's over. No, wait! Come back!" *sexytimes*
Yeah, there's no way we've seen the last of them.
The easy prediction is that Claire runs as an independent, but I doubt it (especially given how late in the political season the show is, about a year ahead of real time right now). I think it's more likely they all work together to elect Dunbar/bring down Frank. Only problem is, the showrunners have made Dunbar pretty f*cking unlikeable as a character.

(the bullsh*t numerology/beat-you-over-the-head symbolism was sarcasm, in case that wasn't obvious)
2 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Wednesday 4/8/15 - 9:47:25 AM EST (GMT-5)
I'll be shocked if Claire works against Frank.
