Back for a 10th season. I think they really did a good job of casting talent-wise this year. A lot of pretty impressive contestants out there.

I totally loved the "This is project runway not toddlers in tiaras" comment.

REALLY?!

When??
What channel?
OMGYAY.

(I was kinda disappointed in the all stars version and I can't wait to see new talent.)

First ep was last thursday on Lifetime. I think you can watch it at mylifetime.com.

O.o
How is it that I missed this?
(Oh, wait, I don't watch Lifetime damnnit)
7 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Thursday 7/26/12 - 3:07:34 PM EST (GMT-5)
I can tell already I'm going to hate Gunnar. A lot. Also, Christopher looks strangely like Michael Costello from some angles, and it's throwing me off.
7 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Thursday 7/26/12 - 3:41:33 PM EST (GMT-5)
Ven was robbed. For real. I want his bustier. I'm worried hes going to end up like Andy. Never acknowledged, and eventually just gives up. I thought Andy was robbed in season 8 too.

I love the unconventional challenges! It's always so amazing what designers do with non-fabric things. I think that
Ven
rightly deserved the win, and
Lantie (wtf kind of name is that anyway?)
most definitely deserved to go home.

I again stick by my earlier statement that I hate Gunnar.
I would have picked Dmitry or Melissa for the top three spot instead of him; how come no one mentioned that his licorice was also falling off his model? To me, neither Dmitry's nor Melissa's looked like it was made of candy, which always impresses me the most.

Next week's episode looks fun. Dressing the winning designers of Project Runway!? We already got a glimpse of Irina's bitchiness, and I think Gunnar is on the receiving end. Yes!
7 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Sunday 7/29/12 - 10:00:36 AM EST (GMT-5)
When it was down to Lantie and Buffy, I thought Heidi was going to say "Lantie and Buffy, you two have the most ridiculous names in this competition so we have to get rid of one of you".

Definitely agreed that Gunnar is friggin annoying. Though Chris (Michael Costello part 2) should just ignore him more.

I'm enjoying the personalities of Dimitri and Kooan a lot. Totally unique in their own ways, but always fun to watch. I don't think Kooan will stay long, but I hope we get at least a few more weeks of his crazy just for the entertainment alone.
7 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Sunday 7/29/12 - 11:07:14 AM EST (GMT-5)
Did you all notice that when Gunnar was being ignored he was getting MORE obnoxious? Yeah, really not digging that guy and I love how MC2 *ha!* was all "whatever" about him.

I think this is going to be a really good season - so many great personalities!
7 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Monday 7/30/12 - 3:49:57 PM EST (GMT-5)
I love MC2. He is my fave for sure. Kooan is okay. Lantie sucked. Buffy is nothing more than a Betsey Johnson knockoff, and a bad one at that. The hippie girls things are not all that interesting to me. And the Ukranian gal's things are just too...hard.
7 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Monday 7/30/12 - 4:35:56 PM EST (GMT-5)
i really like ven's work, kooan's personality, and melissa's sexy black style.

buffi is horrible
7 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Monday 7/30/12 - 4:36:19 PM EST (GMT-5)
^ i made stuff similar to buffi in 3rd grade
7 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Thursday 8/2/12 - 5:54:06 PM EST (GMT-5)
I didn't like any of the outfits they made in the first challenge. I liked ones they had sent ahead and was excited to see what they could create but nobody impressed me.

I'm surprised at the judges' praise for Ven's being perfectly made. I didn't think the top of his dress fit well at all

Andrea really annoys me.
I'm surprised she wasn't in the bottom 3 for her candy dress.

Next week looks fab!
7 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Thursday 8/2/12 - 6:51:10 PM EST (GMT-5)
I actually felt that Andreas was styled REALLY well. I was not blown away, but the idea of the smock with the bustle and the marie antoinette bouffant...it was styled perfectly.
I think thats what saved her.
7 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Sunday 8/5/12 - 9:11:23 AM EST (GMT-5)
I give the producers of the show an F for this week. It's the Lexus challenge. No wait, it's the Emmy challenge. Oh yeah, and we're gonna have you design for the former PR contestants. Oh, and let's make it a team challenge! I felt like Nina Garcia should step in and say "You have too much going on here. You need to learn how to edit". I felt kind of bad for Lexus. They were the title sponsor of the challenge but were pretty much ignored after the key thing at the beginning.

As for the challenge itself, I am so glad that
Raoul is gone. He was so negative about everything. He called Ven a one trick pony? Really, does that make you zero tricks? Plus, whining about red carpet. Wah! It's a big part of fashion!
7 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Sunday 8/5/12 - 9:12:35 AM EST (GMT-5)
Plus, I had to roll my eyes at all the complaints about team challenges. Really? They've done 'em multiple times every year on this show. It's a reality of competing for the title. If you don't want to do it, then don't join the show. Same thing with whining about the amount of time that you get.

Exactly this, definitely. Be prepared to make up for your partner's shortfalls and stop bein' a pussy, ffs.

We finally watched the latest episode.
I felt badly for Andrea - she seems like a really sweet person and it would have been more productive of Michael C Jr. to take her aside and say, "Honey, I know you're struggling, but can you speed it up a bit?" instead of being a whiny sh*t on the runway.
7 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Sunday 8/5/12 - 7:42:59 PM EST (GMT-5)
As for Raoul going home? I agree. He argued with Tim, with whatshername, with everyone. I do think that they both (his partner) should have gone with what they know (hello, their client was wearing a perfectly red-carpet look upon meeting them, ffs!) instead of trying to do a gown in one day. It was just stupid on their part.

I like that Ven keeps winning, too, over Gunnar. Gunnar's partner was very classy on the runway; he admitted he had faults and that it wasn't his thing. Gunnar is a drama llama, though so that means we're going to be enduring his stupid attitude until the very end. Ugh.

Plus, how many times did she get help from other contestants during the challenge? As a teammate, isn't it YOUR job to help her get it done instead of spending the whole time rolling your eyes and whining about how slow she is?
7 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Monday 8/6/12 - 11:14:29 AM EST (GMT-5)
Exactly!
I mean, I get it - he was pissed because he was saddled with someone who probably shouldn't have been let onto PR at all; she's older, doesn't work as fast, is more old-fashioned in her techniques (tho I kinda liked the whole bib concept lol), but seriously, instead he was a catty bitch about the whole thing.

This episode made me rage!

Disagree with the top two, HATE most of their attitudes.

This series is gonna be great

What?! I love her aesthetic. She made some mistakes that cost them time in this challenge but I don't think her designs are old fashioned at all.

I liked how she handled Chris's whining on the runway. Very classy.

And I just read next week we will learn that Andrea left the show...........

And I really thought the silver chemise should've won. Wow, what a gown!

100%

It's a bitch of a material to work with and the execution was first class. It was perfect for the client too, she looked stunning! Ticked every box.
