Hipster garbage or is there actually something to it? I was kinda thinking of starting a little collection of my own... Well, not thinking about, I`ve already ordered a couple. Who's Online | Find Members | Private Messages

Repressing are happening with digital masters. Makes more sense to buy cds in a lot of cases.

Vinyl albums are a great thing for two reasons:
1. Their size makes them a much better display for album art.
2. They have a much wider range in sound.

BUT
1. probably doesn't matter much if the album art isn't that great anyway and
2. will only really affect very few people who can actually hear that. I - for example - am 51 years old and can't hear the relevant frequencies anymore. However, for you as a young person there might
still be a difference to be heard.

Boston’s album Boston makes the distinction very clear. There’s a ton of old copies of that floating around.

Vinyls only make sense if recording and mixing were analogs.
