I was hanging out with my son this past Saturday and at the end of the day we went to Kneaders for our sweet tooth. He had mint chocolate brownie and milk. I had raspberry crumble and coffee. Now, i get it that they don't leave sugar out but don't know why they can't have packets. Anyway, i asked for cream and sugar. They bring some half and half and a few packets of Splenda.I take them to the counter and ask for sugar. No joke, the young guy behind the counter turns to the store manager and asks if they have sugar. She says yes and points. He brings me 5 more splenda packets. I say "no. It's the white packet with s- u- g- a- r on it" He looks at me like I'm not even from this planet with a blank stare.
Hello. Coffee with sugar. What could be more basic?

What weird customer experiences have you had lately?

Like 10 years ago there was a restaurant in walking distance from my apartment. For entrées you get to pick 1 side.

I ordered Fish and Chips and a salad for my side. Walked there and back and opened my box and I only had fish and a salad. So I went back and told them they forgot my chips.

The manager told me that fries are a side and I picked a salad instead. I told him the entrée was Fish and Chips. Not just fish. The chips are apart of the main course.

I never went back to that place after that. It was so stupid I just wouldn't give them any more money. I drove by there recently and they are closed. F*ck that place.

Was it that they didn't have regular sugar or that the worker was just having a moment? The coffee shop I worked at didn't have actual sugar to give to costumers either and I don't know if it's a normal thing or

I'm sure they had 50 pound bags of sugar in the back. It's a bakery. And they serve coffee and tea. And the puzzled look from the guy like sugar was an odd request threw me off.

And why you can't have a side salad with fish and chips. I like places like noodles where you can get a side salad or soup for a dollar with the entree

The guy at Cumberland Farms the other night had hardcore punk playing very loud. I made a conversation out of it because I used to go to shows with a kid I knew in high school. It seemed odd though. Seems like it would bother other customers but I guess it was like one o’clock in the morning.

Cumberland farms doesn't sound like a bar or music club so I'd find that a bit odd too.

It’s a convenience store. They're not nationwide?

Hmm. NY, New England and Florida. Headquartered in central Massachusetts. They’re kind of sketchy.

We have a local place in the capital region called Stewart’s. Usually the Cumberland Farms and the Stewart’s are right next to each other. Weird conflicting social identity games surrounding convenience stores. Cumberland Farms is 24 hours though and their premium gas is a higher octane. But Stewart’s premium is ethanol free.

Massachusetts kind of invaded the capital region though. It’s weird.

Sketchy 24 hour convenience store, hmmm? Giving them a pass on their music at 1 am on a weekend.

I haven't gone to enough places lately to have anything from my recent experiences to share.

My son tells me about all the moron customers that he has to deal with at his job at a burger/frozen custard place- - like the people that order a cheeseburger without the cheese (instead of ordering a hamburger).

They have Culver's there?

We stopped for supplies on the way to a festival and grabbed a cheap breakfast at the in house cafeteria. They have these joints all over the place with the same kind of deals, Any 6 items and tea/any 8 items and tea/ any 10 items and tea. There is 6 of us and he adds up every thing separately and gives me a huge bill. I sat that's 3 6 item breakfast add 3 8 item breakfast. (which we actually asked for and were served at the counter) He was a young Polish guy and the rest of the staff were Older Mumsy English women. So he says you have 2 Bacon (which is 1 portion) I say no I asked for Ian 8 item breakfast and this is what I was given. 2 bacon equals 1 portion, 2 hash browns are 1 portion. He starts to continues to argue so I took 6 Breakfasts 6 teas and Coffees and 12 slices of toast costing about $100 S even at the cheap price and said, OK sell them to someone who thinks like you.

So it all ended up in the trash and he had 6 cancelled bills totalling well over $100 to explain to his manager.

They do, but he works for a competitor of Culver's.

Don't mess with bored. Lol.

I like Culver's and there is one close to me and one by where my son lives so I get that sometimes

Culver's is nice. They are very active in our community in sponsoring sports teams and hosting fundraiser nights for the schools.

The place where my son works serves burgers that are as big as your head- - I like them better than Culvers. I like their custard better, but my son thinks that Culver's has the better custard.

And Culver's has the good root beer.

They send BOGO coupons for the double butter burger in the mail all the time. Nicely designed advertising flyer if i do say so.

They do give back to the community which is a good thing too

My wife likes them because they are the only place (at least around here) that has diet root beer fountain drinks.

Surprisingly I can't be bothered to argue with petty jobsworths, especially if they adopt an attitude Doubly when I'm on my way to work.

Sorry bored but i have to call bullpoo on that one. I'm guessing the same argumentative dick we see here is on display for the rest of the world.

No I really don't have the patience and in most cases it's just someone going through the motions of their job. I wasn't about to train a Polish cashier how to price an English breakfast ,when we can dive a mile down the road and get a better one. I didn't want to see hid manager for sure.
1 month ago - Tuesday 2/2/21 - 10:05:31 AM EST (GMT-5)
Do you think he'd have done better if he was an Older Mumsy English woman rather than a young Polish guy?

Why do you hate immigrants?
1 month ago - Tuesday 2/2/21 - 10:49:41 PM EST (GMT-5)
I didn't read that as hating an immigrant. I read that as being annoyed by someone not following local custom and etiquette.
1 month ago - Tuesday 2/2/21 - 11:43:46 PM EST (GMT-5)
Anti Polish sentiment isn't uncommon. It just struck me as odd when he specified the guy's nationality/ethnicity the second time...
