I actually was unable to post while getting my car out but made sure to chronicle the ordeal immediately afterwards.

And I am genuinely pleased that the plow guys still have the decency to do a job well. The lot looks good and I have plenty of room to park.

You first wanko.

I don't need to move my car. I've been in isolation since March and now is the most restrictive regime.

Plus I don't post moronic poo or use pathetic terms like "wanko"

Time to grow up man-child.

Are you talking to me or the dog thing?

So, you live somewhere that gets multiple feet of snow and own a RWD vehicle? Ok
30 days ago - Thursday 12/24/20 - 3:38:43 PM EST (GMT-5)
It doesn’t usually snow this much. And it’s 50 degrees out today and a lot of the snow is melting.

Winter is not predictable in recent years.

Probably solar flares.

Almost all of the snow is gone already. It rained all night and it’s supposed to get close to sixty today. Almost a white Christmas?
26 days ago - Sunday 12/27/20 - 11:04:23 PM EST (GMT-5)
So I think Christmas was good. There was one argument. But it was okay. I had missed my medication Christmas Eve and was exasperated Christmas evening. Family dynamic is a definite trigger sans medication.

But tennis and table tennis all day Saturday. Plus that crazy Dolphins fourth quarter and a couple fun to watch Knicks game yesterday and today. The rest of the family has next week off though.

I only have Friday off.

But it’s okay I think. I think it was a good time overall spent with family.

Gotta not let work make me drink so much is the primary takeaway.

It’s gotten colder again but hasn’t snowed much. Roads were only questionable for a day or two. Haven’t really slipped or slid again.

I think I need to apply the same troubleshooting methodology of my car on snow at work. I mean I do but I have to be more systematic.

I think my attempts to get my car to move are mirrored by my attempts to accurately measure things at work. Sometimes I get frantic and run through a random series of adjustments. My method is imprecise but I think still relatively effective.

Like last night. I think I know what I should have done. I bumped a probe on a part. Blind. Came in faster than a gentle point because I couldn’t see around the part. But the probe measured funny afterwards. A requalification might have fixed it. I reran it on the other machine but that just causes our results to be questioned. When an issue arises I need a clearer course

of action.

And then later in the night I had a txt file open that has inputs used by the software. In my adjustment I was again prodding and tweaking but not properly experimenting. I didn’t mess anything up. Everything is the same. But at some points I feel like I’m scrambling with a radio or television antenna as opposed to controlling the equipment with a practice of method.

I think it’s in the volume of work. The high production necessary sampling, which I agree with, causes me to function in time management rather than process control. But I am at least witnessing extensive process control.

My car getting out really spells it out clearest. I was frantically trying to muster all I could to accomplish the task. It was already noon. The snow was overwhelming and I challenged it head on. I was exasperated with scrambling to be free. And I got to work and no one was there..

If anyone is even reading this.

Does this post violate any non-disclosure agreement?

Would an employer treat this as a comment that reflects poorly on their company?

I swear I’m just discussing how my anxiety makes my own life more difficult.

I think as long as the company itself isn't named, you are probably OK
24 days ago - Tuesday 12/29/20 - 11:47:15 PM EST (GMT-5)
But did I say anything that sounds incriminating to the company?
24 days ago - Tuesday 12/29/20 - 11:48:39 PM EST (GMT-5)
You are also not posting under your own name- - no way for the casual user to link you with your employer.

Perhaps it can be taken as being critical of the company, which can be taken as a negative.

I understand that they’re slightly understaffed. I tell myself that it’s economically unavoidable for a variety of reasons.

The pandemic has affected most companies this past year- - flat or reduced revenues means that it's hard to take on more staff.

I got one of the things I was working on to work.

I basically functioned as a translator.

One piece of software didn’t understand what another piece of software was trying to say. Or what I wanted it to try and say.

They’re like best friends now.

The last two times I turned on the television I’ve changed it to AMC which the first time was playing The Godfather and now is playing Footloose.

The scene when I turned it on in both instances was a woman getting beaten.

Not a particularly pleasant way to start my day.
23 days ago - Thursday 12/31/20 - 10:39:09 AM EST (GMT-5)
Is John Lithgow a bad guy in Footloose?

Weird.
23 days ago - Thursday 12/31/20 - 11:40:59 AM EST (GMT-5)
Oh John Lithgow has a crucial change of heart.

Good for you John Lithgow.
23 days ago - Thursday 12/31/20 - 8:42:06 PM EST (GMT-5)
Lithgow played/plays a lot of bad guy roles, doesn't he?
22 days ago - Friday 1/1/21 - 9:45:50 AM EST (GMT-5)
That’s true but I watched quite a bit of 3rd Rock so I’m always a little confused by John Lithgow in movies.
22 days ago - Friday 1/1/21 - 12:12:56 PM EST (GMT-5)
I’m also really confused by the Twisted Tea meme.
