Shovel.

Turn on snow button.

Put in low gear.

Turn off traction control.

Turn off snow button.

Turn on traction control.

Spin tires.

Wiggle the wheel.

Go in reverse and then in low gear.

Go in drive.

Go in reverse and then go in drive.

Shovel behind the tires.

Shovel in front of the tires.

Pray.

Two feet of snow. So. That was why I was battling. And I fought hard and I fought strong and I fought quiet and I fought loud. But now I’m on the side of the road. And I believe I will be able to navigate down the street to work.

My pants are wet. I need to walk to the gas station and buy stuff. I need to shower.

Question.

Should I offer help to neighbors getting out of the snow if they’re not even out there trying to get out. Like should I shovel out behind vehicles? The one neighbor is a younger woman who’s kind of a small lady. And it’s going to be hard for her.

I’m thinking people have parents or friends and they can call for backup. Would it possibly be creepy for me to help people. Will people think my help has ulterior motives?

Only me and one other guy showed up to work.

I have to use personal time but...

YAY! SNOW DAY!

And I knocked on doors and everyone said thank you but they lined up a way to get out or said they didn’t need the help. So now I get to watch Thursday Night Football.

Rear wheel drive.

I have snow tires but it was still a battle.

Congratulations. You scared the hell out of your neighbors. Wanna come terrorize mine until they leave me alone?

They seemed to think I was fine. They all said they appreciated the offer.

I had Carr and Hunter Henry in my fantasy lineup.

Carr was injured in the first drive. Hunter Henry did well though.

That’s kind of morbid.

But I did notice that when I quoted you it uncensored sh*t. Probably it will re-censor it when I post?

Yup. So if you don’t understand the swear filter just quote it. Learn new things every day.

I feel like if an older (than I am) guy was to come knock on my door and ask whether they should shovel my drive, I'd automatically say no, even if I'd really need the help.
But if they had shovelled it and then knocked on my door to tell me they had, I'd be very grateful and my reply would be more like 'omG thank you so much, you shouldn't have, I really appreciate it....'

I think she’s seeing someone.

I didn't say I'd (or she'd) appreciate it THAT much.

I would still feel like I was hitting on her if I shoveled her car out for her without asking. And what if I bent her antenna or scratched the paint job. I don’t think I would have the guts to do it without asking first. There’s a couple with a son in another apartment and I asked them as well. I’ll offer to help people but I’m not just trying to win brownie points.

It's a bit like when you're a guest in someone's home and they ask if you want some tea.
A lot of people will automatically say no, because they wouldn't want to trouble the host. Even if they would love a cup of tea. But if a person was to ask if they drank tea, and went to make the tea and put it in front of them, the person would drink it. Offering is like saying 'I don't really want to do it, but I'll do it to be a good host/ess because that's what society dictates'.

Well, it works like that in my culture/family. You guys are different.

And if you bent her antenna or scratched her car, then you shouldn't be trusted with a shovel.

It's nice to offer, regardless.

Turn on snow button.

So all the snow is from you pressing the button?

1 month ago - Friday 12/18/20 - 11:42:02 AM EST (GMT-5)
It’s just a low RPM button.
1 month ago - Friday 12/18/20 - 1:26:29 PM EST (GMT-5)
Well you can quit pressing the button now, okay?
1 month ago - Friday 12/18/20 - 1:56:26 PM EST (GMT-5)
No I have to turn it on every time I drive now in case of snow drifts on the road.

The politics of shoveling snow are actually quite complicated. I think some people don't care but others take it as a personal offense. It's a coin toss, but the risk man, the risk

I’m parked in the church parking lot because I’m afraid to pull back into my parking spot that I had difficulty getting out of. The politics for me is, are the plow guys going to do their job and finish plowing the rest of the lot or do they think they did enough and it’s no big deal they still get paid because everyone gets a hand out these days. And I’ll just continue walking the further distance to my car rather than risk more headaches of being stuck in snow.

Things you had to do to get your car to move.

1. Stop posting moronic sh*t on the Internet.

They plowed this morning. But I’ve got to go shovel at my grandmother’s. And it’s my niece’s birthday party today/the Bills Broncos game at my brother’s.
