I am sad if it does die. It was a fun place to discuss current events, make a journal and debate news issues and to just vent. Just in case, I wish everyone happiness and hope you have happiness

it's most likely due to my status as world's most unbearable bore.

At some point, it became a "guilty pleasure" and a place where *nobody* knows your name so no one shared this with friends like Facebook and more popular, inclusive sites.
There are the alters.
The destructive personality types.

It's dying because of the Discord traitors.

Are you calling me a destructive personality?
27 days ago - Sunday 6/14/20 - 1:56:29 PM EST (GMT-5)
.. moronic instigators..

So, any suggestions how to make this site better and more popular?

Marketing is a very lowly and pervasive evil that I refuse to endorse.

It's dying because there's been no new influx of members for roughly ten years, and there's no reason for anyone to stumble upon this site and stay now.

I think it was dying before then.

Also, I like the little group we have here now. There are just I believe two or three people "over there" that I really wish would come back here. I do truly miss their posts.

Oh wait no I know...

Because he not busy being born is busy dying.

The final nail in the coffin was that it started increasingly crashing, up to a week+ at a time. Less incentive to invest in a conversation when you don't know if the site's going to be available or not.

This is it and then there are those who say they hope yt dies and stay on discord now, but will pop back over if they think they can bark at others about something.

I miss some people, but the discord is not a good place for me and I had to step away for a while, at least.

Thanks, Damsel! Things are ok. Nothing going wrong with my apartment, so that's fantastic!

That's fine. If something feels toxic, it's healthy to step away.
Me, I feel neutral about both places. I check on both. My tactic is to interact with ppl who make me feel good and sidestep anyone that's triggering icky feelings in me. It's working well enough.

And similar in "IRL" interactions.
I have this one woman in my life that I've known since I was 15 and shes still in my circle. Sometimes things are ok and sometimes she triggers the hell out of me because our friendship was complicated. I have to figure out when I'm mentally thick skinned enough to be friendly or if it's going to spark anger.
Idk, I'm rambling now but that is the gist.

Staying clear of toxic is always a good idea.
Who's going to make the last post?

I am really, really glad you are here despite it being so quiet.

Discord was not fun because of the negativity and that one person (you know who) is on it but not here much so this is better.

The only thing I like about discord is you plainly see who has been lurking all those years.
But I hate recieving notifications all the time and I can't be bothered carrying a full conversation most days.

You can turn notifications off

So that was just a slight uptick with Corona and the protests?

Really slow now.

Well at least there’s still German soccer.
