the existence of a god has no impact on my life one way or another, so I just don’t care

Militant atheist says what?

No I’m kidding.

I do think that it’s significantly frowned upon to be religious in STEM though. Cough catchall cough. That’s why I took offense to that.

As someone that got his engineering degree from a religiously affiliated institution, I take offense to that.

Hmm...

Maybe the times have changed? I think STEM has become quite politicized.

Growing up people often seemed to appeal to scientific theory that they were taught in middle school to defend their idea that religious ideas were for uneducated people. I think a lot of those people were emboldened and are on some kind of progressive quest to challenge the concept of a deity. Maybe I just live in a really secular area. I mean I know that I live in a really secular area but I’ve never really lived in anything different.

It can be. Many (probably led by militant Atheists, desperate for validation) want to frame science as being incompatible with religious belief.

That’s predominantly what I was exposed to going to school in the northeast.

I take issue with business practices at this point in my career. Technical account manager seems to fit the bill for engineers around here. I don’t like business environments. I studied almost all theoretical sciences. Very little hands on. Very little applied tech or trade education. Everything’s been on the job so far. I did sit in an office at a paper mill for about two years but that just about drove me nuts.

So yes. Engineering in this area appears to be militant atheist business robots and in my brain I’m battling said militant atheist business robots.

I think that the business aspect is often what separates Engineering from the pure theoretical sciences.

I’m learning this after the fact.

I think they taught people that in fraternities at my school. They were very formal fraternities. They had parades and stuff. I’m learning about business now working in a subcontracting

Business ethics is more of an oxymoron than military intelligence.
