I cannot believe that this school quarter is half over. So far, I have A's. I need to work really hard to maintain those grades because of how competitive my program is to get into.

I registered for next quarters classes. There will be four instead of three. One is math! OMG I am scared. I also signed up for critical thinking as my elective. Anyone ever take critical thinking?

I am sad that my favorite month is over. I am even more sad that my cat died during my favorite month. Today we went to an animal shelter. All the dogs barked so loudly. One wasn't barking and was sweet. We met a cat that was gray with beautiful green eyes. She was very calm. But should I ever get a pet again? I will just have another heartbreak.

Thanksgiving plans have been made. We are joining my sister and going to a very nice restaurant that is buffet style.

I did find a place that rents vans but we think taking mom might be too difficult.

Tomorrow is supposed to be another cool yet sunny day...perfect weather again. Don't know what we are going to do.

What is going on with you people?

Haha, there's a class called critical thinking?
1 month ago - Friday 11/1/19 - 10:57:31 PM EST (GMT-5)
It was either that, some literature class that requires a lot of writing, some other world literature class, or art appreciation.

Wew. Sounds like you probably made the right choice.

I'm going to have a busy weekend. I have all the stuff to do the 90,000 mile service on my truck. I also have 4 enormous oleander bushes that need a severe trimming.

Do you enjoy these chores?

I’m glad your classes are going well- keep it up!

I love doing the car stuff. The landscaping? Not so much. At least we're supposed to have great weather.

Thanks luckystar!

Today sucked because I slept too late.

This is going fast!

Don't worry about the math. It'll be ok or we'll help you.

I need lotsa help! LOL

Well, throw your math probs in here. I'll try!

Also, might seem odd but throw Technotronic's Pump Up the Jam into your music mix, headphone/one ear bud, whatever. It helped me this last 40 hours of work.

I wonder what the critical thinking class will be like. I took logic in school...maybe it'll be similar?
1 month ago - Sunday 11/3/19 - 2:54:34 AM EST (GMT-5)
Logic is like language math
1 month ago - Sunday 11/3/19 - 2:58:38 AM EST (GMT-5)
I do think they are the same.
1 month ago - Sunday 11/3/19 - 3:39:49 AM EST (GMT-5)
Sorry about your cat dying
But I'm glad your studies are going well!
I did critical thinking in college, but I honestly can't remember anything about it.
It must have been ridiculously boring.

Indeed, it's very much language math. I liked logic alot. Most people took it with the aim of fulfilling their math requirement, but I took it as a philosophy major.

Ugh you are saying the word math and scaring me now! LOL

I think that since healthcare involves a lot of critical thinking that it was the obvious elective for me to take. My second choice would be art appreciation. I don't want to do any of the literature stuff because writing takes so much time.

Puller, thanks for the condolences. I really miss him. When we were at the vet office I told my husband to NEVER let me get anymore animals again, period. I do not want to have this pain again. But I have already found myself looking at pets for adoption. It is empty without a pet.

I don't know if I should get another pet.

I completely understand that feeling, Damsel. It's what I went through for months after Walter...I would be simultaneously looking at cats up for adoption, and getting sad realizing I would outlive them even if nothing traumatic happened again. I just was not ready right away, even though I felt like I really wanted to have a pet. I blamed myself a lot for his death, too (and still do to an extent), and felt a lot of dread at the idea of being responsible for an animal again.

It took a combination of time, mourning, and a situation where the kitty was not even in a shelter...she was living with the chickens after being dumped (with her sister) near my mom's coworker's house. It was getting cold and they really didn't want two more indoor cats (though they would have taken them in if no one else did). I think sometimes those things just have to come together.

Yeah. I know what you mean.

I just saw a listing of a kitty who is described to be "making biscuits constantly" and I LOVE that. Corwin never made biscuits. One of the reasons I got a cat was for stress relief...my doctor actually wrote me a prescription for an ESA. I wanted a cat over a dog because they are easier to take care of, and they don't bark.

I may get another cat. Although when I had Corwin I longed for a dog. But I may not get a dog until we have our own place with a fenced in yard.

What is 'making biscuits'?

Pets are good for kids aswell. I wouldn't let it hold you back from getting another one, just maybe hold back for a few weeks/months so you won't just be getting one just to fill an empty space that the last one left behind?

Making biscuits means the cat is kneading, something they sometimes do to people or things when they are comfortable and relaxed. I like when cats knead on me, it is soothing. Like a mini massage.

Kind of like how a rat will clean itself on a person when they feel comfortable with them?

That is so sweet!

I have been having racing thoughts and so much anxiety. I want to get a lot done and want it done quick. Like, I want to throw many things away or give them away. I want my house organized perfectly.
