I put a snake plant in it for my mil so hopefully she doesn’t kill it. Since I was getting one for her I got one for me too. Still needs a pot.

I wanted to go thrifting today, but I don’t think I’ll have time. I wanted to get some wooden frames for my classroom. I want students to be able to hang their artwork on the wall that way (but no backings).

I thought my sister and I were doing well, but she’s a bit peeved at me right now cause I’m not able to go pick up my bridesmaid dress from alterations with her. She’s going to pick up her wedding dress as well. But this was the only day we could celebrate mother’s day with my husband’s parents soooo.

Oh well he can’t be too mad at me, we leave for Dominican a week from now

That still reminds me of the paranoid android video.

She loved it lol

My latest in sister wedding drama. She wants to use our first dance song. Not as her first dance song, but as the song the bridesmaids walk down to. Of all the songs!
I told her please don’t, but now that I’m actually thinking about it, what do I really care? It’s just a song.

Maybe she's being passive aggressive. Don't give her the satisfaction of being bothered.

I am finding it more funny than everything. She must really look up to me secretly. She also is a big fan of purple and giraffes coincidently.

My husband is thinking about going back to school and I’m sooo happy that maybe we found a good course? It’s a electrical tech course and he could lay e go into fixing amps and guitars which he would be so good at.
But now we have to figure it the logistics of it. Where will he go to school- the island or here? What can we do so he will pass the math test? Finding his paperwork. tricky how to pay the bills without him working. Ahhhhh.

At the same time the timing is not great for me. We are negotiating our contract and it isn’t going super well. Despite having won a court case which gave tons more jobs to teachers recently they are trying for class size and composition to be nulled which would lay off tons of teachers (maybe myself included).

Guitar tech work is mostly with touring bands and it takes a long time to get yourself established. Opening your own workshop would be more lucrative than sitting in the back of someone else's. Times are hard in the live music world.

There's a market for guitar and amp repair here. Plenty of people who play electric instruments and don't know what to do when the electrics go on the fritz/stop working. It also opens you up to a little side-business of buying non-working instruments and amps on the cheap, fixing them, and selling them for what they're actually worth.

That said, the people I know who do this have not taken any courses on it, they're self-taught and have just done a lot of work.

Yes there’s a market for it here too apparently. I like the idea of him taking the course since it’s not limited to guitars and amps, there’s so much more they learn and are qualified for. I don’t want him to take something and be limited.

I went to my sisters legal ceremony yesterday. It was good, just the basics. We all went out to dinner afterward and my Mom came. I sat far away from her because she still grates my nerves after all these years.

It got a bit awkward because everyone else from my family that was there is going to my husband’s surprise birthday dinner tomorrow and i didn’t invite her (we are not close). Of course my nana has to ask why she isn’t coming... oh well. I’m didn’t know she would be at dinner.

How's the math instruction going?

What level does he need to be at for the courses?

It’s been sidelined since we had a little birthday dinner tonight and I’m going to Dominican to tomorrow

The math itself is pretty basic- bedmas, fractions, decimals, basic algebra, but it’s a lot of stuff he either hasn’t used for a long time, or he missed completely in school so he lacks a good foundation. He had a terrible school experience where he was kicked out of class or left to his own devices which is a really big shame.

Sounds like my husband. He had never been introduced to the order of operations!
