I start driving to school, less than a minute after I leave I try to turn on a street. And this happens...

My car is on the right.

No one was injured but my car is f*cked up. Someone is coming to inspect it tomorrow and I don't know if I'll be able to go to school this week. That's not a big deal since my Thursday class already ended and has no final, I wasn't planning on going to my Friday lab either because they're easy, and tomorrow 1 teacher will just talk about his paper unrelated to the class, and my other 1will show us how to code which I'm already good at. But finals are in 2 weeks and I assume we're reviewing next week so I need to be able to drive again soon.

My title and registration weren't in my car so I went thru all the old documents my parents kept. I didn't find them but I found stuff from my childhood that I had forgotten.

My speech impediment was so severe that I couldn't make the sounds 'sh', 'ch', 'l', 'r', 'j', or either kind of 'th'. My parents thought I had some developmental issue so they took me to a lot of psychologists. But I did very well on the tests they gave.

I think that top GE means that on the "word attack " test (sounds awesome), I performed at a 16.9th grade level. Which... isn't a thing.

And I did very well in school until 5th grade when it all went to hell for some reason.

I don't understand how my handwriting got worse, but this is what it became:

Don't ask me what that says.

I did ok in middle school and high school but from then on the teachers always described me as withdrawn and uninterested. I was no longer the boy the teachers all described as having a very promising future.

I am in awe of your ability to attack words, although you don't tell us what grade level you were at the time...

Not sure I understand how they have grade equivalents that surpass the grades they have, and percentiles that are over 100...

But in happier news, some wise words from children:

Oh also: I was super duper. Were you?

19 days ago - Tuesday 5/7/19 - 1:47:59 PM EST (GMT-5)
And I don't think I want to know what this teacher was talking about in her evaluation...

I also admire your choice to abandon cursive. I did the same.

Yeah I was baffled by the 122nd percentile thing. It's also the only one where the percentile is higher than the SS so I'm guessing they mixed them up.

Especially since that was the test I did worst on in terms of GE.

1998 so I was 10. Probably 5th grade then. I'm guessing they had me take these tests because of my regression. Maybe to check for neurological problems.

I also found 2 different IQ test results that were very different form each other which is odd...

Well done, Joseph. I'm so old that my report cards in elementary school were handwritten.

I wonder if they still make kids take those f*cking things.

Oh it looks like one was a test of non-verbal intelligence to test or things like autism. I don't know where they got the IQ value from tho.

Excuse me, it's spelled like this:

Or as this letter calls me:

IQ tests are so crazy anyway. I wouldn't actually be surprised if you'd taken two different ones at two different times and gotten a big variation in results.
19 days ago - Tuesday 5/7/19 - 2:31:16 PM EST (GMT-5)
It's even weirded than that since I got 3 different scores on the same test.
19 days ago - Tuesday 5/7/19 - 2:38:27 PM EST (GMT-5)
It looks like the non-verbal test estimates the IQ and is usually pretty accurate but for me it was off by more than 20 points. Since people with autism are supposed to do much better on non-verbal tests, I guess this means I don't really have autism?

I like your tiger.
and the story of how he wakes up bangs his head on the ground three times and roars.

I was trying to look up what it meant that my performance IQ was so much lower than my verbal, especially considering I had a severe speech problem that should have made me do worse there, and I might be autistic which also should have meant my performance IQ would be higher. What I found was... not encouraging:

I don't know what level I should have expected but if I just go by being below the mean, I have 4 out of 5 of those. But my BD was extremely high so I'm probably safe.

2 out of 4 there.

Hm I just took 2 different types of sample IQ tests online out of curiousity and 85% of the questions are the same. Not just the same kind of questions. The exact same questions.

And they are dead wrong about the answer to this one:

If the first two statements are true, is the last statement true as well? Marcia only drinks sweet tea in the summer. Marcia has a sweet tea with her dinner. It is summer.

1. no
2. yes
3. uncertain
18 days ago - Tuesday 5/7/19 - 5:54:01 PM EST (GMT-5)
What is the answer
18 days ago - Tuesday 5/7/19 - 6:02:39 PM EST (GMT-5)
Marcia has a sweet tea but does she drink it?

I had a Coke today. Would assume I drank it with that phrasing, but I also could have had a can in my bag and not drank it.

I'd say 'uncertain'.
18 days ago - Tuesday 5/7/19 - 6:13:08 PM EST (GMT-5)
Only is ambiguous there. It could mean either "the only time Marcia drinks sweet tea is in the summer, not at other times, but she might drink other beverages in the summer, too" or "the only thing Marcia drinks in the summer is sweet tea, no other beverages, but she might drink sweet tea at other times of the year as well". But they claim the answer is "yes". I would expect people testing on intelligence and attention to detail and cleverness to know that.

And mouse, I hadn't even considered your scenario. It's a pretty literal reading but a perfectly reasonable answer to a word puzzle. Certainly shows more intelligence than their expected answer.

So I guess we're all smarter than the IQ test makers. That means we must have an IQ of like 23114987.
