Something? Anything! Song, picture, book, note, observation, something I like about you. You may request a category but no promises if it intrudes on my creative license.

Journaly things. I think I had my first, visceral thought that I'm not ready for my parents to age. I watched a sweet video of a woman with dementia remembering her daughter. This week my gf turns 30, my dad's birthday is tomorrow and he'll be solidly late 50s.

Time is slipping through my fingers like water.
Sometimes I'm terrified I'll never move forward and keep moving in circles because I have never confronted my past and the universe keeps trying to put me in a "force restart".

I keep letting my mom put me in touch with potential suitors and I do not know whyyyyy. But even people I have 0 interest in are still interest-ing-, and I engage with them, so now I have to learn how to act like an ogre so I can shake this one off. Honestly, thinking about my life too closely gives me a terrible stomachache.

Despite (because of?) Deep Mood Thoughts, life is pretty dull, except for (including?) taking the bar in twooooo weeeeks.

My dad's in his mid-70s. I can remember when he was the age I am now. It's f*cking weird, man. I don't like it.

aging f-cking sucks
and I was hanging out a lot with a friend of mine this weekend and I kept thinking about how we would be 50 one day and what would that even look like

I have a pit in my stomach because of it
this existential dread that I can’t shake

Watching other people age is so hard. My husband’s parents are a bit older than mind, in their 60s, and I can see how much they’ve aged just in the years I’ve known them. I don’t want them to get older!

I remember when I graduated boot camp at 18 I was struck by how my dad was starting to look like an old man.

He was 48 then.

I'll be 50 this year.

Nice depressing thread, gordlolden! Jeez.

If I stopped aging around 40, but you know, lived indefinitely, I could handle it. 25 would have been ideal, but it's too late for that.

Why? If you can stop aging and live forever, what's stopping you from aging backwards Benjamin Button style?

similarly reliable, iconic (to this little site), and came about around the same time amiright. ((this joke was harder to make than usual given the current discussion.))

You bring to mind this book I read a few months ago, both for fairies and the personality of the book.

You make me think of the phrase "hiding in plain sight". such an understated presence here, and from a region known as anything but. Your posts are always valuable and I'm glad you can share about your dad here, I hope he keeps recovering quickly.

I didn't mean to! I posted for the fun respond part mostly. And the Moody Thoughts part just are a packaged deal.

I'm really enjoying where I am right now. If I could stop the clock, now would be it.

Actually, in Sunday school a teacher told me once that we get to choose our age in heaven. I'm not sure if that's canon or fan fic, but it's a nice thought.

I'll be one of those cherub infants, then. Can fly but just baby with no big thoughts.

I’m gonna be 25 forever

Because I'll be better looking at forty, I'm pretty sure. I suspect I'll mature well.

Ayyyyy, me too. The second part. This age is okay, too, though.

Hmm when it comes to looks I'm pretty sure I peaked in my mid 20s.

she's been one of my go-to's on these cold winter nights, just the perfect mix of warm and heavy. You're one of my dearest friends on here.

Ok this has accidentally taken me over an hour, I'm gonna squeeze the last bit of studying out of this coffeeshop, and ruminate on what I'm going to post for mouse and cola and cra-z.
6 days ago - Tuesday 2/12/19 - 12:21:36 AM EST (GMT-5)
I had never heard of that word. That alone make this journal worth it.

"Obsolete". Not for long. I'm bringing it back.

That's the nicest way anyone has ever called me a prick.

Aging is a privilege not given to everyone.
