Got my car fixed finally. Bought a new battery. Installed it with the help of a buddy. Now it’s running fine. Needs an oil change but things are going well now.

I’ve had it with management at my job. Got written up verbally expressing frustration with rude guests in the back office. And they wrote me up cause they said it was my second offense cause one time I did something in the back that made my boss’ boss ask me if I was okay.
What was that thing I did? Grunted slightly while stretching cause I was sore from lifting weights.
I’m not making this up. I got in trouble for that.

I have a phone interview for a new job Monday. Never done a phone interview before. Any advice? What should I expect? It’s for a job at a bank.

Also look at my presents cpayne got me! I love them!

I don’t have any good advice for phone interviews, but the one I did I had brainstormed some possible questions and wrote down some things I wanted to say. To refer to in case I got nervous.

Yes, do this!

Look up the common interview q's (why do you want to work here, your strengths, weaknesses, time you solved a problem, etc.) And write down a script or bullet points. Nothing worse then going blank over the phone with no visual cue to show you're pondering.

I pretty much did one once. Be sure to ask THEM questions. Make a list.

Ooh, that one's hard, the asking questions bit. I've always heard it's not meant to be actual practical questions about benefits and whatnot but some sort of b.s. question that shows you read their available info and mission statement and you're supposed to be a suck-up and ask "How can I help Generic Bank achieve their goals of putting a smile into everyone's wallet today?" Or asking about their work culture and how the HR person likes their job.

Forgive my ramblings.
I find that question difficult when it's in the phony stages of first interview.

An interview is your chance to find out about them, not just for them to find out about you. That's what I was thinking.

And - I'm glad it was just your car's battery.

Ask about the company culture or something along those lines.

Pretty sure that's one reason I got a supervisor job instead of one of the regular jobs once.

Maybe a question about opportunities to grow? Professional development?

Prepare for it as you would a normal face to face interview.

Have a good reason to give for wanting to leave your current job, be prepared to talk about current responsibilities and the stuff on your resume.

Have questions prepared to ask- - about the work environment, hours, etc.

I often ask how long the interviewer has worked there and what they like about working there.

For phone interviews i have some notes prepared as others have said. I print out simple bulketblointd in large font (or large neat handwriting) because when things are moving fast and I’m nervous I need to be able to read quickly with minimal effort.

I also take notes because that can be handy if you have a follow-up interview.

make sure you will be somewhere quiet and undisturbed to take the call.

Some people find it’s worth dressing up for them even though they can’t see you to put you in the right mindset.

I’m so ready for this interview y’all. I’m gonna crush it. I just know it. Thanks for all the advice.

Best of luck to you.

I like the confidence- - keep up the positivity and you will do well.

Nailed the phone interview. Face to face is on Wednesday.

Funny story: to prevent any outside noise from my neighbors or whatever I locked myself in my bathroom to wait for the call.
As soon as the call began Dante decided it was the perfect time to start howling outside the bathroom door so I had to get out and put him in my bedroom while doing the beginning portion of the interview.

Dante is a dog yes? If he's not a dog and is a human what is your relation to Dante?

Dante is his extremely handsome cat.

I have the same problem with Pipo, every time I’m on the phone, he thinks I’m talking to him.

Yeah, Stella gets jealous (Walter did too, he would cry and paw at the phone if I had it on speaker).
