last night at 3am I SWEAR my 6 year old was standing right by my bed and I heard her say in the most worried scared voice ever “mommy! I am so scared mommy help!”

I didn’t open my eyes at first because I was dead asleep, but I rolled over and told her that everything is okay, and asked if she wanted to cuddle with me. When she didn’t respond I opened my eyes, she was not there. Freaked out, I got up and looked for her. She was tucked in her bed asleep.

I don’t think I’ve ever had one of those dreams, it felt way too real. I’m actually 100% convinced that she ran back to her bed by the time I opened my eyes. It really fcking happened.

You have the creepiest stories.

It doesn’t help that my 2 year old constantly goes around saying “ahh! Monsters! Spooky!”

Oh and not too long ago I thought I heard a knock st the door and I asked 6 year old if anyone was here and she said “just this creepy man!” Only to fck with me.

it probably was just some other creepy ghost kid and not her at all

My 3 year old keeps having dreams about her drumpa...my father being killed.

It's terrifying.

The first one she said he was "torn apart my puppets"

The next one was simply that drumpa died and she couldn't go to their house anymore...It was so sad.

She's perfectly fine after the dreams...doctor says its just how kids try to understand concepts bigger than themselves ...like death. They try to make sense of something that truly doesn't make sense yet. She also has night terrors...though that thankfully hasn't happened lately. Those are the worst.

We get night terrors too. So hard to not be able to comfort her during that time. I know she’s fine, and I know it will pass, but it’s still heartbreaking.

Yes, I think Skyfish is right. Nothing to worry about- - your kid's fine.

Did you ask your 6 yo if she had a scary dream last night?

Yes! I also asked if she came to my bed and she said no to both.

Nothing will convince me she wasn’t right there, it was real and it woke me up.

Has she ever sleepwalked?
13 days ago - Monday 1/7/19 - 3:19:24 PM EST (GMT-5)
She does, a lot. Both just regular sleep walking and night terror / screaming crying sleep walking.

I think she probably got embarrassed that she got scared and ran back to bed and doesn’t remember it.

luckily my daughter hasn't done any sleep walking...but to be fair it's kind of impossible since she wears her brace at night...I'm very anxious about when we do finally get to take it off. My husband was a sleep walker...and so was my brother.

Here's hoping she doesn't follow suit. I'm not super hopeful though with the night terrors and general fits.

Once, my youngest sister said to my stepmom, "Remember when I was the mom and you were the little girl?"

this is why I'm afraid I'll deck my child in the face.

GUYS
She just came in and stood beside me again, and said “what’s that?” And kissed my forehead and RAN back to her bed. I followed her. She’s still asleep, like she didn’t even do it.

I am 100% awake, I wasn’t sleeping or drifting off.
(was having trouble falling asleep actually

Next time grab her and sit on her until you're fully awake

My sister told me had a neighbour who woke up one night and her 15 year old step daughter was standing at the foot of the bed just staring at her. After it happened again along with other disturbing behavior the girl was sent for psychological assessment. The opinion was that she represented a clear danger not only to the rest of the family but to the general public a large. She was confined in a secure unit possibly for life.

I guess a kiss on the forehead is better than an axe in the face...

She doesn’t remember, again! Also I went to wake her up, but she was not in her bed. I looked back in my bedroom and she was sleeping in my bed. (I have a king, lots of extra space)
When I woke her she was very frightened and asked how she got into my bed.

Girl!

This must have happened between 3a-6:30a

You told her that the ghosts carried her into the bed, didn't you?

Wow! At least now you know what you're dealing with (and that you didn't dream it the first time)!
My dad went through a sleepwalking phase that he eventually grew out of, but none of us kids did. Not a cool few years for my grandmother, though. At least one time, she found him sitting on the roof (he used to sit up there when he was awake).
Some people say you should lock the child's bedroom door, but I feel like that's got to be unsafe.
