When I was in my early 20s I REALLY wanted to become a flight attendant. I even applied to a few companies. Obviously this never happened and now that I am watching youtube videos that are "day in the life of a flight attendant" on a few different channels, I am so thankful that I never did it. I don't think I'd like it. Yes, they do get to travel but most of the layovers are really too short to do anything. Like, 12 hours or less in a hotel. They just hang out and edit videos or sleep. They also have to be on call and just hang out in the airport for so long...how boring is that?

What are some of your non regrets?

I don't regret moving away from the northeast with its sh*tty weather.

I wanted to shave some of my hair off like this when I was younger

I'm so glad I didn't though. Now I look back and think thank God I didn't.

Why? Hair cuts/colors are extremely low stakes. Basically no matter what you do, it'll grow back or fade.

I don't regret not marrying the first guy who asked. Took me a long time to realize it wasn't a mistake.

I don't regret not going into debt to go to a fancy University

You'd be surprised. I had the ends of my hair dyed purple a few years ago and started a new job during that time (the last actual "office job" I had). The only thing that was said about it was by the hiring manager, and she just wanted to know where I'd gotten it done.

I'm just glad I have hair.

I mean, dying my hair fire engine red, rocking a mohawk or leaving it to get dreadfully long and unkempt would not go well in my line of work.

And at 90 years of age, it's not an easy feat.

I guess that's true; you meet with more varied members of the public than a lot of people do (and more elderly people, I'm betting). You could do SOME stuff, but it's not just a manager/corporate office whose opinions you'd need to be concerned with.

I am also so thankful that the house we were building/buying in 2016 fell through when I got super sick due to my pregnancy and had to take off a lot of work. That house would have been way way too small for us now. Plus, the builder assured me the driveway would be level but it was a down hill angle! And there were other mistakes the builder made and promises not kept. So glad we got out of that one!

I used to name mine back in the day ((before there were too many to count)).

On a similar note, Damsel, I am really grateful that the apartment we were meant to move into wasn't ready in time. The management company got us a place at a much nicer property that I doubt we would have been accepted for had we tried. And it was a much much better location.

Same. I don't regret dying mine all kinds of colours whilst I could.

I do not regret moving 2,000 miles away from home to be with my husband.

My life is measurably better in all ways possible than it would have been at home.

I *almost* did a school program to be a travel agent. That was when internet wasn't as pervasive and most people still visited a physical travel agency to book flights and trips. By the time I finished the program, that would've been nearly obsolete.

I'm glad I didn't marry PeeBottle Ex. Was easier to end in a break-up than a divorce.

Glad I didn't grab a backpack and a bus ticket and leave for San Francisco when I was 17 or 18. I'm not streetwise and who knows what would have happened. Probably a bus ticket right back.

Is the travel agent career really obsolete? This lady who always shows up at various events around here is a travel agent. She seems really successful.

There's a few jobs left, but not like it used to be.

I'm glad I didn't run away to LA when I was 14, I'm glad I didn't stay in a hotel with (some guy), glad I didn't stay in a hotel with (another guy), glad I didn't have unprotected sex with (yet another guy), glad I didn't have a threesome with (some more guys).

I am grateful I left Argentina when I did.
