I made homemade ding dongs for my husbands work and now im afraid i food poisoned his students and bosses.

I put a bunch of heavy cream in the chocolate choosing because it was way too thick and sweet. Now its making me nervous. But with all that sugar (its literally just melted chocolate, shortening, and heavy cream), it should be okay? Hopefully?

I should stick to non questionably fridged desserts. Its gonna give me ulcers.

They are still craaaaazy sweet though. Pretty good however. Marshmallowy filling.

Picture to come.

We are STILL unpacking. The amount of shelves my husband has put up is insane. Almost done though.

Husband always looks into job postings in fall (when most come out) to see whats out there. So far they are all in places we dont wanna live.

I miss my family in NY. Itd be nice to move closer. I miss my peoples in VA too. This whole hurricane thing makes me realize how much i feel like i still belong there.
Bit grateful to not be there at the moment. But id like to be there for our peeps. We are so far away from everyone.

And its so damn hot here. Another month and we can actually go outside.

Husband wants to stay in a 2 room suite for our winter vacation, we stayed in a Staybridge for our last mini trip and he fell in love. I am finding they are so not easy to find. In our price range anyway, in the location we want to go. Sigh.

Was the cream past it's use by date or something?

No, i just have such a hard time knowing if things need to be refrigerated or not. Im 90% sure its just paranoia.

But i food poisoned our wedding guests with the cake i made. I felt/ feel SO BAD about that. Most of them were really nice and were all, it happens girl. But id rather it didn't i still dont know how. It was an almond cake with store bought betty crocker frosting. But all clues point to my cake, its what everyone had in common as far as we figured out. im SO paranoid about that stuff now.

Baking for my husbands work is a big part of what i do now a days no one would eat my stuff again! And id be too embarrassed to send anything else in.

I've discovered they are better chilled.
Holy sweet though. I should have made them smaller but then they'd be even sweeter and more dipping

The cake is PERFECT for a hostess knock off, but really crumbly and hard to work with. Amazingly delicious though.

I used that same cake recipe for a 3 layer came with ganache in between the layers. It was heavenly. Decedent really.

I would totally eat those unrefrigerated and never think twice about it.
