asking for a friend

I don’t like to complain
and I’m afraid I might be making more of this than it is
but these people have what I assume is an alarm clock that vibrates the walls and they seem to like to hit that snooze an unfortunate amount of time

they’ve also been listening to a movie that’s vibrating my ceiling today
first time for that, but it’s very annoying

I always think it's best to go to neighbor first...in my experience most of the time people are just unaware they are being loud.

Most of the time people will try to fix the issue rather than be jerks about it.

Only after that would I complain to leasing office...

but that involves confronting them

I’m not good at that type of thing

I would go up there first, yeah. It doesn't have to be confrontational! Apartment walls are thin and any reasonable adult ought to know that. They probably just don't even realize it's that bad in your place. When I had my first college apt, our neighbors' bass used to rattle our dishes (at like 4 in the afternoon so it wasn't a huge deal). We baked cookies and went up and introduced ourselves (in fairness this probably works better when it's two 20-year-old girls lol) and they had no idea it was vibrating the floors.

A friendly note should also suffice
13 days ago - Sunday 5/13/18 - 8:26:18 PM EST (GMT-5)
a note might not be a bad idea
it’s the alarm that bothers me more than anything else and multiple units probably deal with that

My husband has a fan on the floor pointed at his computer tower. Apparently it was super loud downstairs. We had no idea. He built a stand for it when we found out (she had called the office to complain, they found it was a fan and said she was SOL. but they off handedly told us and we were like omg! Sorry! )

quick pivot

why does it seem like every single p-rn video i come across nowadays is at best about step sisters, but usually just about actual sisters?
i know the people in the videos aren't related in anyway of course, but why are so many people into that genre right now?

My pooty ex bf really wanted to have a threesome with my sister. Like... what?? Why?! What??
12 days ago - Monday 5/14/18 - 1:39:23 AM EST (GMT-5)
confronting them is a good idea. you just need a step-ladder and some courage
12 days ago - Monday 5/14/18 - 2:11:52 AM EST (GMT-5)

This is just lol.

Only in 'Murica.

You're an idiot for not calling the cops.

Idiot.

Love too call the cops to solve problems that can likely be resolved thru normal human interaction

I don’t think someone hitting snooze is a reason to call the police.

(My husband opened the door with an Xbox controller in his hand and it was the police and they got scared and thought he had a gun. Imagine how quickly that fear of an Xbox controller could nance been escalated...)

This is America
Don’t catch you snoozin up.

•I would honestly never have the courage to confront the people personally and would live in misery with the snooze and hate myself for it.

•I’ve noticed the incest p-rn too and it’s really gross and kinda not friendly to those that have had childhood trauma.

what's weird is they don't have the alarm set everyday

it's just that when they do it is going off at 5:30 and thry keep hitting the snooze button for about an hour
12 days ago - Monday 5/14/18 - 7:16:51 AM EST (GMT-5)
i would just get some ear plugs.

Talking to them is definitely the normal reasonable thing to do but I still wouldn't do it
12 days ago - Monday 5/14/18 - 7:21:17 AM EST (GMT-5)
Just resolve to waking up earlier. You will be a more productive person, thanks to your upstairs neighbors...
12 days ago - Monday 5/14/18 - 7:27:15 AM EST (GMT-5)
I’m up now
all I’m gonna do is stay in bed playing on my phone until 7

getting up even earlier won’t change that outcome
12 days ago - Monday 5/14/18 - 7:33:09 AM EST (GMT-5)
another thing I’ve been noticing about p-rn nowadays is the amount of father/mother stuff going on as well

the mom is always teaching whoever in her family how to f-ck
the dad is just straight up having sex with his daughter... or they try and make it “better” by having it be the step daughter

I have to search way too much for something normal
12 days ago - Monday 5/14/18 - 8:25:15 AM EST (GMT-5)
It's all part of the plot to discredit parental sex education so the schools [government] can take control...
12 days ago - Monday 5/14/18 - 8:59:53 AM EST (GMT-5)
Go up and bring cookies! Nobody can be mad when you bring cookies.
12 days ago - Monday 5/14/18 - 9:02:46 AM EST (GMT-5)
...and cyanide can give those cookies a nice almondy flavor.
12 days ago - Monday 5/14/18 - 9:17:06 AM EST (GMT-5)
I'm not the “bring cookies” type
12 days ago - Monday 5/14/18 - 10:55:27 AM EST (GMT-5)
The cookie idea is really good though. Maybe not anything homemade, but a packaged yummy thing with a note left for them to read can be portrayed more as a “I’m really not trying to be confrontational but it’s really disrupting my sleep” gesture.
12 days ago - Monday 5/14/18 - 12:06:48 PM EST (GMT-5)
I don't watch p*rn anymore but I believe the incest thing is just a new way to push the envelope and satisfy people bored of same ol' stuff and draw in people with exciting taboos.
I wonder what the next trend will be.

do you have a relationship with them?
how long have they been living there?

write a friendly note, also tell them not to hesitate to contact you if you are ever too loud.
