In May my husband and I are going away for the long weekend

There is a fancy hotel where you can have a high tea. I’ve not been to a high tea and I think it would be fun.

But it would be 75$ each plus tax and a tip which is expensive. But it’s a experience?

Plus our Airbnb. Plus I want to go to the butterfly place. And any other stuff we do.

But our room comes with a free sauna so saving money there

Oh plus our ferry ride there any back too. Life is expensive.

Just do it. Vacation time is splurge time.

Where are you going?
If it's in Victoria, I've been there and I was a child but from what I remember it's nice.

It is, did you go to the empress?

Always fancy tea!
My sister's wedding is next weekend and we're staying at a really sweet hotel (definitely not the one she booked rooms for everyone else at) and I am going a couple days before just to enjoy being a tourist. Gonna take a tour of the caverns and sit in hot springs for days.

Yeah, do the fancy tea.

I don't know. It's a lot of money which holds potential for disappointment if it doesn't feel like 75 dollars worth of experience.

That sounds amazing!! Where are you going?

Right?!
What if it doesn’t live up to expectations!

But it is an excuse to dress a bit fancy.

Also for my birthday I am going to a restaurant where you dine in the dark. I’m super excited, I have wanted to go since I was in Montreal and heard about o.noir.

Glenwood Springs, CO it has fantastic hot springs and there are natural caverns above town. The caverns are actually where my sister is getting married, at the very bottom.

I've wanted to do that too! But who knows if it'll ever happen. Enjoy it!

I don't know how I feel about dining in the dark. I like to...inspect my food....

That sounds freaking amazing.

I wish my husband was a bit more adventurous with that kind of thing, but at least I have a friend to do that kinda stuff with.

They have a dish you can order that’s a total surprise, imagine!

(I could never do it, I’m too picky, but if the food on the menu doesn’t appeal to me tbh)

I love tea at a fancy hotel!
Ours is only $40 but a lovely experience.
I haven't been in a while but this journal made me decide i need to take my kids this year.
We gonna be fancy

Yesss do it wonder!

$40 seems very responsible too.

Even if it was $100 bucks plus tax and tip I would feel better about it, but $75 per person just seems like so much!

I’m probably gonna do it though. Double birthday getaway and all.

responsible = REASONABLE

More tea, Polly Prissy Pants?
6 days ago - Sunday 4/15/18 - 1:27:28 AM EST (GMT-5)
That would be too much for me. It sounds super fun and i love dressing up for stuff like that. But 75 per person? Oh, no.
(Canadian? So like 60$ us? Still too much)
I think 40$ and i would consider. Not yes, but consider.

Afternoon tea has become big business in London now. Thinking about it I'm suprised that it hasn't been all along. It's such an English thing for tourists to do. I guess in the 60's it wouold be too old fashioned and it's taken 50 years for the mainstream to catch up again. I guess it depends on the class of the Hotel £45 (80 canadian) would be mid range for a hotel tea room, expensive for a restaruant. The Ritz is £120 for 2!

Victoria is, I think, the only part of Canada I've been in.

Oops I didn’t see this. It’s a nice part! I would go live there if they needed teachers and it wasn’t darn expensive
