I WAS BUSY

anyway,
my book reading target was a measly 10 books
and some of the ones i read were SHORT so it felt like cheating

I was too busy last year.

I'm shooting for 15 this year, hopefully with more of them being decent sized books.
16 days ago - Monday 1/1/18 - 12:34:24 AM EST (GMT-5)
(and i'd like to read more than 15 if i can)
16 days ago - Monday 1/1/18 - 4:04:06 AM EST (GMT-5)
I had been going through books during all the downtime
and then bought Gravity's Rainbow at the beginning of the year to try to get through
(I figured if I get through Dante at work, I could do Pynchon)
and then they stopped letting me read
but still let the other girls read
because they worked nights and weekends and I was weekday daytime
even though my performance wasn't effected by my reading
(the other daytime girls would have complaints about night shift not doing their work because they wanted to read and do homework though)

so, I'm still on the same book
maybe I'll finish it someday

but that's not my frustrations
my frustrations are about not having another job yet
and weight frustration
and relationships/people frustration
and money
and wanting to create, but not feeling movtivated to actually do it

and STUFF

I wanted to get through a lot more books this year. I only read 10 though

That's 10 more than a lot of people read per year after they're forced to for school etc.!
16 days ago - Monday 1/1/18 - 4:55:20 AM EST (GMT-5)

anyway, i'm glad i'm not alone with my 10
it might be more than the average person (i guess) but compared to other people on goodreads it feels tiny

then again, goodreads is goodreads. a lot of people on there have reading as a serious hobby. i shouldn't compare myself to them.

i prioritize other hobbies over reading
and i only read when i'm in the mood...which isn't every day.

BUT there are a lot of books i want to read while i'm on earth and i know i need to increase the amount i'm reading to make progress with my reading list.

by the way,
merry 2018, everyone!
two years until it's the '20s again!

I should start actually using goodreads. because I have absolutely no clue how many books I have read this year

it has certainly been at least 1. but I think fewer than 10 for sure

what's your goodreads account?
16 days ago - Monday 1/1/18 - 8:48:55 AM EST (GMT-5)
I read 2 books last year but tons of magazines.

I like magazines. They're like brain snacks. Easy to put down and pick up again.

I may have a commitment problem.

i guess i'll put them in my box

I think I read 13 last year though most of that was from rereading Harry Potter in February and March.

This year my goal is at least 12.
Started that off already today by reading a few chapters in Golden Son by Pierce Brown.

A book I bought back in August as a birthday present to myself..

Lol

I used to read a lot. Back when I had a bookshelf. Reading on Kindle is not as fun as holding a nice book in my hands.

I read the first of that series. One of these days I hope to get to the Golden Son...

I'm just the opposite. It bothers me now when books are only available in print form...

Are you planning to shame her by setting your goal at 3000 more than her goal?
