On the one hand, I have some delicious real maple syrup.
On the other, pancakes make a mess and I could just make an omelette or something.

On the first hand again, pancakes would be a delight in my mouth. But the omelette would be alright too. Ham/cheese.

Our Christmas lights ghost was back last night. I was really grateful for him/her because the weather was miserable and I really didn't want to go outside and turn them off.

My husband's officially on leave with me! He wasn't entitled to paternity leave because of time spent in the job, so he just took his regular holiday days all together.

I'm 39 weeks today. My mother in law keeps fussing that I need to be active and walk around and do more. But then she's constantly trying to do things for me, "Don't worry about the dishes, I'll do them", "I'll make dinner, you sit down".

"I'll do the ironing". And when we go out, every five minutes, "Are you alright, chick? We can go when you're ready"

Yall are useless.

Pancakes won the day.

While I neglected to help you make the decision (I admit that I am useless), I do support your decision.

Of course pancakes win the day. They always do!

did you go english or american style?
1 month ago - Wednesday 12/13/17 - 9:17:21 AM EST (GMT-5)
American.

I don't know how to make English style. I should give it a go one of these days though.

Isn't English style just lemon juice instead of syrup?
1 month ago - Wednesday 12/13/17 - 9:22:04 AM EST (GMT-5)
If it is with maple syrup, wouldn't it be Cabadian Style?
1 month ago - Wednesday 12/13/17 - 9:52:48 AM EST (GMT-5)
I always thought English were more like sweet crepes.
1 month ago - Wednesday 12/13/17 - 9:54:40 AM EST (GMT-5)
I made pancakes today.

Hey how much longer do you have?
1 month ago - Wednesday 12/13/17 - 10:00:21 AM EST (GMT-5)
My due date is a week away.

It's surreal to me now in a way that it hasn't been throughout the pregnancy because the whole time it's been just "cooking time", so to speak, but now he's a full-fledged person and just hanging out until he's ready to come out.

Oh yeah he's totally full baby! Oh dear I'm excited for you.

Me too! I'm ready to get through the hard work of labour and onto the hard work of parenting. It feels like it's looming over me and I don't know what to expect except for all the horror stories I've heard.

I've been watching "One Born Every Minute" and "16 and Pregnant" for motivation. It's the same way I motivate myself to get on scary rides at a theme park. I convince myself that if these 8 year olds can do it, so can I.

I mean, the principle is essentially the same.

Always make pancakes.

lol I liked watching 16 and pregnant because it allowed me to be like "if they can do it, I can do it"

Labor can be so fun, but it's horribly scary when you don't know what to expect.

You seem like such an easy going person, I have a good feeling that you will do so well, and it will be like no big deal once it's all done.

Thanks pf! I appreciate the faith in me

Pancakes are almost never a bad decision.

I want an omelette pancakes sound too sweet today.
1 month ago - Wednesday 12/13/17 - 12:22:17 PM EST (GMT-5)
I would have made pancakes and the omelet.
1 month ago - Wednesday 12/13/17 - 12:29:08 PM EST (GMT-5)
Okay. I have a confession to make.

After I posted this, I went into the kitchen to find that the ham I thought existed had been eaten.

That's the real reason I chose pancakes. Maybe I still would have, who knows?

Ham goes very well in pancakes- - it's not just for omelettes anymore.

I loved 16 and pregnant. Now I watch teen mom.

I find pancakes alone is not nearly as good as pancakes with an egg. Maybe not full on omlet - that's a lot of work for a meal that happens before I've gotten anything useful done with my day - but I drop an egg in the pan and fry it to go with the pancakes.

Glad to hear it sounds like no pregnancy complications. I can only imagine how ready you are to be done with it.
1 month ago - Thursday 12/14/17 - 7:31:47 AM EST (GMT-5)
My grandparents always did pancakes w/ fried egg. I like pancakes with bacon/sausage. But I was in need of grocery shopping yesterday so it was just pancakes.

Today I made the ham and cheese omelette.

No real complications, only some minor issues...anemia/heartburn/"pelvic girdle pain" (what an awful name that is, eh?). The heartburn's gotten a lot better as baby has moved further down though.

Definitely ready to be done and to meet our little man after such a long wait! Plus, I really want him to come sooner than later so his birthday is spaced further apart from Christmas

But if he's born on a Christmas Day you get to call him Noel!
