This morning I woke up a few hours early and had a hard time falling back asleep. Finally, when sleep came I knew I was in a dream. I was standing in front of the fireplace and just looking at the mantle. I remember thinking it looked so very real. But I was paralyzed and couldn't turn my head. I remember thinking if I turned my head I would wake up.

It's not super cool, but the feeling of being lucid is so near that even a simple blank scene with zero excitement feels really awesome.

i had a professor who we made tell us stories about his lucid dreams. it's been too long now i can't remember, but something about a dream where he spent years there.
i dunno it's a little too "inception" for me

It really is strange how real everything appears when you're having a lucid dream. I know what you're talking about.

And I've had times where I can perceive the outside world while in a lucid dream (like I'm holding onto the state right before waking). Like, hearing people talking irl (confirming it was real later) and perceiving the light shining through the window onto my eyelids but I'm somewhere completely different in the dream and can see/hear the dream.

Welcome to my hell.

Oh, jealous. I used to have them more often, but it's been a few years now.

Last one, I was picked up by men in suits and told I was going to prison for murder and would probably get the death penalty. I sat with them, handcuffed, depressed, and scared for a while. Then I suddenly realized it wasn't real and I told them my discovery that I was dreaming. They were like, "You figured it out, yep". Didn't get to do anything cool, just woke up after that.

I like when there's some time to explore. Run outside, kinda fly, look around, etc.

More often than not i know I'm dreaming. But i can't quite control things. Like, i think, 'oh it's a dream, i want that tree to burst into flames' or something, but it won't.
It's frustrating but cool.
