I don`t use checks. I pay all my bills online. I still use those old handwritten registers to keep track of how much money is in the account, though. What... Who's Online | Find Members | Private Messages

I remember legit having a conversation with my husband when we first moved out a couple years ago wondering what people were talking about when they said balance their chequebook. We dunno lol

Let uncle cuck tell you about the old days. The purpose of a checkbook register comes from a time when you would write checks and mail them out to pay your bills.

It would take a while before your check was received and the money was deducted from your account. Even if there had been an app that showed your current balance, that was hardly ever how much money you actually had because unposted checks were hanging out there.

I write checks for child support and my ex takes her time depositing so I need a register. Plus once or twice a month I'll wr ite a check for somthing else like a magazine subscription. They can't automatically renew if you use a check.

The main reason I like my app is it does t he math for me.

This thread is giving me anxiety.

I have had the online banking mess up before, so I like to make sure what I have jives with the online banking.

Outstanding checks aren't going to show up in online banking until they're deposited, also.

Yuck yuck yuck...

Hubs checks our accounts multiple times a day - if he hadn't, we wouldn't have found out that we had over $100 ganked from us last week. We think his card got skimmed somewhere.

I would never except our rent. I would rather just transfer them the money, but that's the only reason my husband even has cheques so first we're going to try and use them all.

I've had to use checks for membership dues in a club at my school but that's the only thing I've used them for in zillions of years.

Back in the day when I was on my dad's health insurance, I used checks for copayments at doctor offices.

I've never ever used checks in a store but I can confirm that, when I worked retail in a store that sold home type stuff, tons of old ladies still use them. I actually liked it because the thing that processed them made funky electronic sounds so it was nice to put checks into them. Like stepping on an ultra crunchy leaf.

ALSO
while working a temporary job recently, i ran into a woman like cuckingfunt who used her card and wrote down the transaction in a checkbook register.
the only person i ever saw do that

Hey, you guys ever see these?

Lol. My grandfather had one of those at his flower shop. I used to enjoy playing with it.

I can't recall where, but some place used one of those at their shop this year. I was amazed.

Sometimes I wish they'd go back to those instead of waiting for those stupid chips to process.
13 days ago - Tuesday 11/7/17 - 8:22:23 PM EST (GMT-5)
I wish they'd go back to letting me have an account for a store to buy my sorghum, wheat, calico, and salt and pay them back when the crops come in.

I use the bank app. Quite useful and secure.

Oh, and private part? GFYWAHCI.
