And I don't really know what I'm mixing it into but I have to choose *exactly* the right ingredients. Some of them I'm putting in their, on purpose. I want to put a lot of loooooove. For everything. For friends. For my lady. For my family. I want to put in my collection of queer feminist theory. And why I hate cities like Dubai. I want to put in my traditions. Like how to make turkish coffee or make some folds in the hijab you're wearing to make it look like a flower. Stuff's falling in too. My procrastination. I'm writing this instead of the 40 pages of essay I have to write in two weeks. My indecisiveness. I feel like, with all the externalities and nuances my life has, I should ahve as much control of it as I possibly can. But I don't. Lack of funds. I got an angry email from my school. I owe 'em like 13,000 something dollars. It'll be a delicious cake, I think. I want cake.

sometimes you need to put something unrelated to the essay
to start the words flowing out of your fingertips.
what is your essay on?
i was just thinking the other day how i'd like to be muslim
because of the hijab (headscarf right?)
and a: it's like your hiding form the world a little bit
b: you'd never have to do your hair
and also
c:
well i'm sure there's other stuff.
BUT you gotta admit
as far as conspicuous consumption goes
dubai is the winner of thewhole world.

Other things.
My dad held a wake? A vigil? A dinner where 60 men came over to pay their respects to him for the passing of my grandma.
My mom cried as we were setting up the backyard. She said it reminded her of a place to have weddings, not wakes. I wish that I would ever want to sign into a social contract with a person that my parents approve of and that I'll be happy with, because I want a wedding in our backyard.
I put up a new craigslist ad. For my own lil muslim gay boy. More specific than my last ad, like he must be not old, be a citizen, educated. Because those are the sorts of boys I say I'll marry and my parents know that.
Today, my friends and I had a discussion about marriage, it's ridiculous, blah. I chimed in heartedly. But as we were leaving, I sort of wanted to whisper in my lady's ear about how nice a ring from her would be. Too early for those sorts of whispering. |

Two essays:
How development in India has hindered equality, particularly women's equality.
And how the prison system disproportionately affects the poor population in the US.
I like the hijab. I like having skin to show off and pretty hair, but I like the hijab. It's a statement. HI. I"M A WOMAN. I OWN MY SEXUALITY. IT'S NOT YOURS TO LOOK AT.
But those aren't the common connotations. |

Is it weird/creepy that I've thought that already? Not him, per se. But someone like him. Someone who's too chicken to come out. But doesn't want to live a miserable life. We'll scratch each other's backs in a platonic way. (can platonic be an adverb?)

It grows on your face. Seriously, it's so weird. I looked so dumb in it when started wearing it. (14. I guess a lot of 14 year old's look dumb, but.)
It's like haircut. I like how my face looks in it now, more distinguished. I like hair more, though. |

Mud's not a chicken. but I can't see you happy with a chicken, even in a platonic cover-marriage sort of way.
