Retired Army officer Cpt Tom Moore came to the public eye s a 99 year old when he began to walk laps around his garden to raise money for NHS charities in the early days of the Covid 19 pandemic. He raised a phenomenal £38 million and was promoted to Major and then made an honorary Colonel (because Major Tom?)
At 100 years old he had a number 1 record with You'll never walk Alone and received a knighthood.
To many he represented the "Blitz spirit" of the few remaining members of the war time generation that were most at risk of the disease.

I was so upset when I heard the news. He was an inspirational man.

if i make it to that age and can successfully stand on my own two feet, i'd consider that an accomplishment. a great inspiration for us all.
