We are both atheists so early in our marriage I just served something else.

But the last few years I've done done fish not for God but because we both remember having it as children.

Now all I have to do is perfect my tuna casserole cos eating feels like a penance.

I'll probably have chicken of the land

No. I don't give a sh*t about God or Jesus or the ancient Italian fish industry (what was the reasoning behind that rule again?) but I've always thought fish was disgusting.

What is in your tuna casserole?

I love tuna noodle casserole and make it often, but nah, never have done fish on Good Friday.

And probably not, we had fish tonight, but our meal planning runs from Thursday to Thursday.

I like fish especially salmon but I'm not going to go out of my way to eat it on Good Friday. I think I'll get over to the service at a local Lutheran church but probably go to a bar afterward.

. Same. It's one recipe that I have taken from my mom with almost no alterations. I love it.

Fish is actually very good for you. Try different kinds from different restaurants, you’re bound to find something you like.

Well I'm a vegetarian now, so I won't be trying any fish. But I never liked the taste of any I tried before that.

Not planning on it. It depends on what we are in the mood for as to what we eat, when.

Fish is so good.
But my god damn brain decided I’m not allowed meat anymore
7 days ago - Monday 4/15/19 - 8:42:59 PM EST (GMT-5)
We don’t really eat meat anymore, especially not any we cook ourselves

If you are Catholic, fish doesn't count as meat...

But why? What magically makes fish stop being animal flesh?
7 days ago - Monday 4/15/19 - 9:48:01 PM EST (GMT-5)
Not sure- - maybe because it isn't a land creature?

I'm halfway there... but do they care about any other aspect of Lent?
7 days ago - Monday 4/15/19 - 9:56:05 PM EST (GMT-5)
I don’t think they even give something up
7 days ago - Monday 4/15/19 - 9:56:47 PM EST (GMT-5)
well I suppose my dad gave up eating non puréed food
7 days ago - Monday 4/15/19 - 9:58:13 PM EST (GMT-5)
I'm not sure how eating fish is really any sort of penance- - I like eating fish...
7 days ago - Monday 4/15/19 - 9:59:55 PM EST (GMT-5)
it’s certainly no penance in south louisiana

people just break out the boiled crawfish
or fried catfish
or seafood gumbo
