I always say make a decision. I'm not sure if take a decision is strictly incorrect.

I never had an English Grammar- - all of my gramparents came from Eastern Europe...

"Take a decision" is not something I've ever heard anyone say. I can't think of a situation where you would use it instead of "make a decision."

When you let other people do your thinking that's when you take a decision

It’s something French Canadians say, (direct translation) and was wondering if it was correct or not.

the logic in the French « take », is the fact that the choices/opportunities are there and you have to pick one.

In 4th grade, I was sent to a 1st grade room to help a kid learn to read. Like because they couldn't teach him, maybe I could.

That sounds neat - how did it work out?

"I wish I would"

"You better be <insert activity you stated you are currently doing>"

"I can't call it."

Oh jeez, I'm not going to be able to articulate this very well, but I would say something along the lines of "I made a decision to <go to the beech>" vs. "I take the decision (about the beech trip) very seriously". Not sure I'd ever say "I take a decision" though.

And yes, I mean beech tree. The coast is so far away but beech trees abound.

That happened to me a couple of years later. The younger kid was my sister and they wanted me to teach her how to speel our surnamee because non of the teachers were absolutely sure how to spel it or pronounce it..... even after16 years of our family passing through..... even through the next generation.
