Mainly to eat more vegetarian based meals and be stricter about sticking to higher welfare meats the rest of the time.

And to be more "present" in my day to day. (putting the phone down, being an attentive friend, etc)

-Write long letters to family, tell each member what they've meant to me. Apologize; make trips sometimes but mostly learn to marry boundaries with nurturing.

-Read what's on my shelves
-Get more into poetry. Maybe try my hand at writing it, too. It's as much of a release to give your impulses structure and direction as channeling them through music or running.
-Sister wants to write a book together, maybe that.

-See long-lost friends, cosmic soulmates in other countries who stay in touch but mostly via wavelengths and email. I have a box of belongings someone in germany gave me when we were in high school together. It smells like family strife and hairspray.

-Learn to play the guitar
-Maybe try the accordion.

-Retake tracing my family tree
-Visit my father's family, at least make a timeline for meeting my half-brother
-learn about Judaism
-boring career things

^ those are more bucket list-type things that I want to try starting this year

I also have a before 2018 to-do list:
1. Purge & organize home office
2. Purge & organize all the files and all the emails (have like 8 accts)
3. Create some sort of budget
4. Follow-up with friends about plans
5. Pass the driving exam (3rd time's a charm)

Stuck at #1 though

More studio time.
Draw every day. I bought myself the NeoLucida XL on kickstarter so I'm gonna start a project.
Run a marathon.
Take an international trip.

what are "higher welfare meats"?
Eating meat from free range type farms?

I love this resolution. It's hard for everyone to cut meat out completely but it'd do the world a lot of good if people at least lessened their consumption. Even if someone is a huge meat eater and refuses to give it up most of the time...cutting meat out of the diet one or two days a week would be a help (plus, trying to get better sources of meat).

It's easy for me to go vegetarian so I do that as much as possible (but not even 100% strict there) but I challenge myself to have more vegan meals.

So, every effort counts.

As for me, I need to get a job and I want to read more and produce more creative works.
28 days ago - Friday 12/22/17 - 3:20:01 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yeah, exactly that. And I totally agree. It's something I try to do currently but I'm not great about it, especially when I go out to eat. So it's a goal to focus on in 2018. It's more expensive, obviously, but that's okay if you're eating meat less often.

I have never stuck to any New Years resolution

So...

1. Go to prison
2. Accidentally eat a poo
28 days ago - Friday 12/22/17 - 3:39:50 PM EST (GMT-5)
You're going to wind up purposely eating a poo
