Was reading a quote by Warren Buffet:

“It’s very important who your heroes are in life,” “I tell college students, ‘Tell me who your heroes are and I’ll tell you how you’re going to turn out.”

With that in mind, I'm wondering who my heroes are, and why.

Who are yours?

My dad was/is my hero.

He was a WWII veteran, had a great career as a teacher/sports coach, was fun, and an all around good guy, imo.

I admire a lot of people, but "hero" has but one person who fits the bill.

My grandpa.
He taught me to treat everyone with respect and kindness and to always stand up for what I believe him.

He fought for workers rights in my hometown and Minnesota for so much of his life and never failed to enjoy the simple things in life.

He was the greatest person I ever knew.

I miss him.

I've never had a hero. When asked I say my Dad because an answer is expected. I love him, I look up to him for some things but it doesn't rise to hero status.

No one has inspired me to do better in a hero sort of way. It mostly comes from within when it does come.

I have today I really like your answer snarf. A lot of people wrack their heads to find heroes and sometimes it's just easier to make up someone even if they don't really feel like (well, I can't speak for anyone else, but I know I've been there). I like that you hold that status on a pedestal and don't compromise.

I find my Nan pretty heroic. She had a hard life married to an alcoholic with 6 kids and no family to help her. But she battled through and didn't let it make her bitter. She is a battler, which is pretty much the most heroic an Australian can be called

Also skyfish

I don't know why i thought Spacepeanut said a teacher told her that having a hero..etc.. it was a book. I need to read and stop trying multitask. This homework is just not capturing my attention.

I will say that Walt Disney absolutely inspires me to work harder.

The man's work ethic and strive for the very best are inspiring af.

Whenever people go on about him not contributing much to Disney's success and being just a figurehead, it's disgusting, because they are SO wrong. Read something about the man and you'll learn differently.

as odd as they are sometimes, my parents. they've been together for 40 years, they're extremely intelligent, they're good people too. i don't think anyone has ever had something bad to say about them. they weren't like average parents (namely because they grew up in europe and not america) which endeared a lot of my friends to them as well.

my brother-in-law has been instrumental during my adolescence. i never asked a girl out on a date before. he coached me through the whole thing and helped me get over my fear of talking to girls. although the first time didn't really work out, i have a loving and beautiful wife now. we support each other, we rarely have arguments, we love each other.

for famous people, i'd say bill gates. doing something that complex is not easy and i admire anyone who can pull it off the way he did. he is also one of the biggest givers to charity.

First and foremost my parents. They taught me the value of hard work, discipline, honesty, fairplay, and charity.

Jesus Christ teaches me about peace and to treat people as you would want to be treated yourself.

John Lennon and Paul McCartney taught me about music, creativity, and dedication.

Michelangelo taught me what art really is.

JRR Tolkien taught me the beauty of the written word.

Rod Serling taught me how great a TV show can be.

Some of my elementary and high school teachers are my heroes.

Walt Disney
Thomas Edison
Albert Einstein
Ronald Reagan
Ghandi
Jack Kirby
Lewis Carroll

... Eh, I have too many heroes.

I'm sure Jesus and you share the same views about selling water to the rich during a natura disaster.

If you have too many heroes, you don't have a hero.

Selling water to those that need it and are willing to pay for it is not a sin. Preventing them from selling it is.
