Things really haven't been the same since they parted ways with Mussolini- - at least he made the trains run on time...

Theres an argument on my friends fb. One of her friends is arguing that no one needs mental health meds, they just need "yoga, eating right and exercise".

Why are people so stupid.
2 days ago - Friday 12/8/17 - 5:05:49 AM EST (GMT-5)
yoga, eating right, and exercise are EXCELLENT solutions to stress. But they do not cure things that actually need mental health meds.
People like that don't understand what mental illness is.
2 days ago - Friday 12/8/17 - 7:19:07 AM EST (GMT-5)
I understand mental illness from a firsthand perspective but I've avoided medications my whole life. I would never say that no one needs them but some people can get by without them. Depends on the illness. Being healthy helps me but focusing on hobbies, skills, and setting/working toward goals helps the most.

I get by with my anxiety and depressive episodes but I've never heard of anyone with schizophrenia who can manage without meds.

Thats the irritating part. its a full on "NO ONE needs them" argument. Its like one millistep away from 'mental illness doesn't exist'.

Those people make me feel terrible for wishing a horrid mental illness on them so they can get some perspective.

I remember xmas shopping when i lived in a city and wondering how the eff people do it with larger items and only a bus or trains to work with. I settled on buying small things that were easy to carry.
I had a car but it was impossible to park anywhere, just used it to commute to the suburbs and back.

Once my husband and I took a table from IKEA on the bus. It was not a fun experience though we laugh about it now. We don't buy big things now lol

Thank god for amazon.

I once helped carry a hammock present for miles to the train in the dead of winter. It was the worst!

I tried to go shopping today. I want to 2 stores and got things for 3 people and then I quit because I couldn't take it anymore. everything else is going to be online purchases and if it's late people will have to deal with it

When we moved here, we were told that yes, it snows but it doesn't stick around long. Great!

We haven't had snow in the whole time we've lived here. It's 100% bizarre.

WHAT is WITH the new 'bouncy choir' thing?? It makes me 100% nauseous. Yes, I get if the music "moves" you, but DAMN, maybe NOT bouncing around like you've got lice in your bum is BETTER?! */rant*

I bought a house a few weeks ago and there's a gigantic window in the living room that I need to buy curtains and a rod for. The window is 150" long. I want to stop showing the neighborhood everything in my living room, but I can't afford what I need. Plus, they're old windows and are letting in a decent amount of cold air so I need to buy heavier/insulated curtains and that's just more money I have to spend. I hate this.

Tape up black plastic trash bags with an inch or two gap from the window. It will add insulation and stop your transparency problem.

I have a 15 month old that likes to stand at the window to look for dogs, so I'd hate to fully take that away from her. Plus I think it's 150 wide? Thank you, though. Weatherstripping is probably what we'll end up doing.

Get a clear piece of plastic at dog and toddler height that way they can only see your ankles if you feel like running through the house naked
