After years of Catholic school and church and even taking a philosophy and religious studies classes in college, I don’t think there is any reasonable reason to believe there is a God. So, I was just curious what your views are and why you do or don’t believe in God. thanks

No.

And if there is, he/she is a maniac.

My God was let down by his disciples this past Sunday.

I heard this theory by a 13 year old physicist that I just fell in love with.

god is energy and the Bible is just really dumbed down physics for the masses.

Interesting ideas. God is the energy that created us and everything and is us.

Did there need to be energy to create everything?

I saw this posted around social media lot, I don't really get why people latched on to it. I'm sure that he's a smart kid and all, but it's fairly standard new age/quantum mysticism type stuff. It makes hand wave-y references to scientific concepts but I don't think there's much substance to what he says.

I don't believe there's a man that sits in the sky passing judgment and creeping our day to day
I believe the bible is a work of fiction, nothing more than a book of tales for teaching people some sort of moral code with a bunch of fantasy thrown in so they wouldn't get bored

I believe Jesus was a real person, but not any sort of messiah
Just a man that was good and taught others to follow him and do good

God is just a word, imo. Not a person/entity, but a descriptor.

I spare this no thought whatsoever. I'll know when I'm dead.

I still had lots of questions like I dont think it addressed what created the energy (God) - first cause necessary or not?

Do you think there is a God?

Do you think that something purposely created everything or the universe just self-started as many physicists believe?

I don't think our little wrinkled electrified mozzarella brains will ever be able to understand or know the real origin story.

Evolution makes the most sense to me
But even then I don't subscribe to any particular theory
Every religion/scientific theory/what have you has its parts that ring true, and things that just can't be explained/don't make sense to me personally

Basically, I believe in the circle of life, lion king style

Them's some peop[le who are humbled by the mystery of life.

There are some people who think they know it all.

What I find fascinating is there are billions of people that are sure there is a God and their "God" is the true God. According to surveys, at least 75% of Americans believe in Angels, 60% believe in the devil. Many are so sure that they will kill people that do not have the same beliefs.

There is nothing about that coursework that would make me think there is a God either. Catholic schools are practically famous for turning out people who have no interest in faith, and colleges courses, depending on the college, are generally not much different.

But I'm sure that you are far wiser than the billions that came before us or the vast majority alive today that still believe, are you not?

I believe in the Christian God.

I started to address that and then deleted it because it will do no good.

Its not so much that I do or don't believe in a god, it's more like I don't care.

But hey, if believing in a God makes you happy and a better person, then by all means. Just don't be a dick about it.
