I'm watching a YouTube video about dark-skinned black women and how they are not seen as being as attractive as lighter-skinned or mixed women. She is saying that people are bitching about the fact that she promotes dark-skinned beauty.
She is saying that black men prefer white or mixed women over black women. And that colorism is a thing within the black community. Dark-skinned women hate being dark-skinned. Can preferring tall men be compared with preferring white women?
Is a woman's beauty the only thing that makes her valuable?

I've always preferred to 150m to the 300m race.

But that's just my opinion

Light skinned ladies are hotter to me.

I don't care why people find other people attractive, and I don't understand people who do care.

In regards to colorist, at least in a historically sense, it most certainly is a thing. Back in the early 20th century, some middle to upper middle class blacks held "paper bag parties". Basically to attend you had to be the same shade or lighter than a paper bag.

The idea was that the closet one was to white the better they were so it basically became a way for well-to-do African-Americans to hold themselves as superior to their darker skinned brethren.

I prefer the long distance races like the 5k and 10k. I like the tactical side of it.

Re: colorism, one theory is that it goes back to slavery days. Lighter skinned slaves worked in the house, and darker skinned slaves worked in the fields (not always, but commonly). As a matter of comparison, house slaves had better living quarters and conditions, so it was considered a better lot in life.
(I don't know anyone who's actually colorist themselves, afaik, but it's been brought up on multiple occasions by people from very different backgrounds and upbringings, so I don't doubt it's still somewhat a thing.)

there is a difference with having a preference vs discrimination in taste.

My mother is a colorist. I have brother who is chocolate, and she'll make little comments about it, making it seem like he's different somehow lesser than his lighter complected siblings. It breaks my heart.

It doesn't really matter to me...except for private parts. I saw this super hot chick in a video...but her bikini bits were grayish! Necrosnatch is not sexy.

People colors...def no orange
My daughter pointed out this attractive lady at Dollywood. Well...she could've been but she was too orange, too blonde and her teeth were atomically white.

I've been watching WAY too much cinema for adult viewing lately and that was a first. It better be a last. Damn.
