(Mr Lebowski)

Seriously though, we've been discussing this in many threads today and we're about to come up with a list of manly pre-requisites here.

Help us put up more stuff on the list, separate the men from boys.
Monday 11/2/09 - 2:21:16 AM
supporting oneself financially
(i'm not a man)
Monday 11/2/09 - 3:27:02 AM
being able to have a big night out drinking..and still turn up for work the next day

Sometimes I think it's the impossible ideals of Rudyard Kipling's If, other times a simple matter of genetics. But other times, it's doing things like this:

I'm sure that pic was just a set up..no one is that stupid...not even a man

Yeah, we were debating this - either that pool is made of the thickest rubber known to man, or the gangway isn't plugged in at the other end. But it still gives me the heebie jeebies!

It's totally believable someone is that stupid, just read a few Darwin awards and it all comes into place.
Monday 11/2/09 - 6:29:34 AM
One man is the manliest man ever:
Kowalski

they must have gone to a lot of trouble to set that up, they'll look sick if someone copies and gets fried. anyway hmm I suppose having a baby would be a good point.

and if not you're allowed in by default when you're 30

Aren't those made up?

A man takes responsibility for his choices and honors his word. A man does not say 'I will do what I said if you do what you said" He merely does what he said.

Amen.
Monday 11/2/09 - 7:06:53 PM
A man (or adult, really) can take responsibility and acts responsibly

I've already created the definitive list. This is redundant.

Yours was missing the kill your own lunch bit.
And I'm sure someone will come up with other requirements.

Darwin awards ARE NOT MADE UP!
or, I don't want 'em to be..
Monday 11/2/09 - 9:06:48 PM
What dacash said plus:

Chest hair!!
Why don't men look like this anymore?

That poem is asking a lot. But then it ends pretty weakly. Sixty-seconds of distance run? I'd up it to sixty minutes, at least.

That shouldn't be a requirement. A fist fight should be able to substitute for that.
Monday 11/2/09 - 11:50:12 PM
on that note, does killing your own lunch substitute for a fist fight?
Monday 11/2/09 - 11:52:23 PM
No. Fist fights are non-negotiable.
Tuesday 11/3/09 - 12:04:34 AM
Damn. And here I thought I was going to get off of a technicality when I harvested my carrots.
Tuesday 11/3/09 - 12:14:15 AM
if you kill your lunch in a fist fight, is that double man points?
Tuesday 11/3/09 - 12:16:01 AM
Only if your lunch is as big or bigger than you. Or if it's related to a weasel.
