Best Hamburger for something local/relatively local...

I'd say it's Armadillo Willy's for me. They also have great ribs and chicken and "texas cookies" which are like giant cookies shared by a group of people.

They're a chain, but very small. 9 locations in the bay area.

Jim's Hamburger in Arlington, TX.

It's no longer there because the landlord decided to demolish the hole in the wall building and run an Asian couple who owned the place for 50ish years out of business for a "modern" office park (that to this day has 1 business).

It was by far the best burger. That Asian dude making the burgers added some great spices to give it a one of a kind taste that couldn't be beat.

Close to where I lived before, the best burger joint was definitely Five Guys
Mmmm, I can just imagine the taste of their Bacon Cheeseburger right now

Blue Michaels make the best hamburger here. It's a local fish and chip shop. They used to be awesome, but then they started serving the burgers on bread instead of buns. They're still the best, but just not as awesome

I really like the hamburgers at Weinerschnitzel, surprisingly. They taste very fresh and light and delicious.

As for general type of burger, I love buffalo burgers.

They're decent, but I don't remember them too well. I used to go to the one in Mountain View after failing at Tae Kwon Do class every Friday.

But I'm speaking more of local restaurants or chains only in say a 25-50 mile radius.

Nation's is up there as well for me.

Isn't that way out by the airport? I only go there to go to the airport.. or As games, or Roller Derby. = Nope, haven't been.

Then GO.

(On your burger scale, how good is this place?)

I've only been there once like five and a half years ago, but if I remember correctly I'd say 8.5

I'm really picky about my burgers so I only eat them at a couple of places.

My most favorite is Griffs. It's a very small chain with locations in Fort Worth and the surrounding area. The burgers are so delicious and sinfully greasy.

There's also a place called Kincaids which is also a small chain in the area. People rave and rave about it and I don't necessarily see what all the fuss is about, but I do like the burgers. It would be my second favorite place, I guess.

I'll be in Seattle in a few days.

DICK'S little greasy window will be my first stop.

5 Guys Burgers and Fries.

They are a rapidly growing chain. Besides Burgers and fries, they do make hotdogs. And the crew is five 'guys'. So it is pretty bare-bones except for the burgers. Which are simply awesome. The fries are fresh cut on premises and are pretty damn good too.

Lewie's or the Sugar Shack.

Locally owned, in the middle of nowhere gems.
Tuesday 10/27/09 - 7:53:48 PM

I've also heard Acropolis in Portland is amazing.
It's a strip joint owned by a cattle rancher dude man.
Have any of you been there?
Tuesday 10/27/09 - 7:57:27 PM
The Shake Shack. it's just a little shack in a park in manhattan.

got a bit too popular for its size, though...

if you've got an hour or two to wait in line, it's definitely worth it!

Also, I had a pretty good crocodile burger when I was last on holiday - bit more expensive then I would normally pay for a burger, but we were in a popular tourist spot, and the prices are always higher there

In Tucson, my favorite burger is at this dive bar. During the summer, they're only $4 on Wednesdays. The inside is really... well, like a dive bar.

Tuesday 10/27/09 - 9:40:01 PM
i'm not much of a burger person, so i'm gonna go tom wahls.
Tuesday 10/27/09 - 10:17:18 PM

They also happen to make the world's best garbage plate.
Tuesday 10/27/09 - 10:39:21 PM
