Kentucky is overrated. I'm sorry I admit they're a very good team and it is tough to win on the road anywhere and they seem to be good at closing out close games, but the SEC sucks. Can we all admit that if they had to play another good team they would not be undefeated? They would have lost at least one game, probably two if they were playing in a good conference like the ACC or even the new Big East is far better than the SEC.

Let's see em try to go into Virginia and win or Villanova and win. They wouldn't. I mean come on thy've not been blowing out some teams that they really should have blown out. They're playing close with crappy teams and if they had to play anyone better than LSU they would lose. LET'S GET SERIOUS HERE. Even a team like Temple from the new Big East they would probably lose to if the game were played at Temple.

The SEC is mediocre at best..
3 yrs ago - Thursday 2/12/15 - 2:59:19 PM EST (GMT-5)
Arkansas is alright, but after that you have onyl a couple of other teams that even belong in the tournament. Texas A&M? Please, they just lost to Georgia on their home court. LSU looked good but they had to play the best game they could just to have a chance and who else is there? Tennessee is pretty bad. Mississippi does't belong in the tourney. And Florida is downright terrible this year. So let's all just admit that Kentucky is a gonna have a tough time in the real tournament even if they finish undefeated in the regular season which they probably will because the SEC suuuccccks.

If they were in one of the actual power conferences or in the A-10 even they would have at least one loss. That's for damn sure. They way they have barely squeaked by LSU and a few others that they should have killed.

Surprise surprise!

No, we're out completely for the 3rd day in a row. W/ temperatures not getting above 20 today and an overnight low projected in single digits, we won't start on time tomorrow. No one wants their kids at bus stops in that cold. Whether secondary roads thaw at all will determine whether we have school at all.

U notice these college kids really get nervous a lot? That's why if you get the kid who doesn't get nervous in these big situations - like a Kemba Walker from a few years back - you're in damn good shape.

Okafor on Duke doesn't seem to get nervous in big situations. Duke's just always pretty good at the end of games though. Those Virginia guys are pretty clutch too in the last few minutes.

This isn't even the tourney yet though.

You're right about Okafor, but Tyus Jones has been the most clutch guy for Duke this year. Okafor is the frontrunner for NATIONAL Player of the Year, but in the closing seconds of a close game, we want the ball in Jones' hands.
2 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Friday 2/27/15 - 2:43:42 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yeah you're right about Jones, he does not seem like a freshman - he plays like he's been around awhile. Quinn Cook's been pretty clutch too for you guys. God Duke is so easy to hate when they're good.
2 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Friday 2/27/15 - 4:17:43 PM EST (GMT-5)
Quinn Cook has been one of my least favorite Duke players ever for 3 years b/c he has just been such a dumbass. He is turning in one of the best step-up senior seasons I can recall.

Who is your team?
2 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Friday 2/27/15 - 6:03:58 PM EST (GMT-5)
St. John's

But I have a lot of teams that I like to root for and a lot that I love to root against too - North Carolina, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, etc.

I like Big east teams mostly but the Johnnies are my team. They're legit this year too, better than their record suggests they just have no depth they only really play six guys so it will be tough for them to make a deep tourney run probably.
2 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Saturday 2/28/15 - 11:02:30 AM EST (GMT-5)
Sir-Dominic Porter is a beast. He almost won that game against us single-handedly.
2 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Sunday 3/8/15 - 4:59:17 AM EST (GMT-5)
Well the regular season is basically over (just tomorrow to go), I think it's gotta be time to do some predictions. Wheres TravBowman anyway? Doesn't he usually get in on this college bball stuff in like November?

Ok, so who do you have winning each conference tournament if you had to pick a team?

These are my picks:

ACC - Duke - Too strong inside and out for any other ACC team. If Justin Anderson was healthy for UVA then I would probably pick them though. Duke may not quite be a championship team this year but they should take home the ACC title with Anderson questionable.

Big East - Villanova - With so many solid teams in the Big East it's surprising that this is the easiest pick. 'Nova is playing insanely well right now can't pick against Jay Wright and them Philly boys. They are solid beyond belief, Darrun Hilliard, JayVaughn Pinkston! wow they are scary good
2 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Sunday 3/8/15 - 5:12:25 AM EST (GMT-5)
Big 12 - Baylor - I wanted to say West Virginia but Baylor has one of the most potent offenses in the country when they're goin good and I'm guessin' they're gonna make a run. Big 12's tough though, any one of six teams could take it really.

SEC - Kentucky - If I'm being honest, I'd have to be a little bit slow to pick against Kentucky in that conference. The SEC is weak, weaker than people think I believe this year and Kentucky has no business being undeafeated even as good as they are. Kentucky should roll easier than they did even in the reg. season through Arkansas, Mississippi and whatever other mediocre to poor team they have to play.

Pac-12 - Arizona - I like Oregon, I really really do and I usually love goin with upsets galore, but it is tough to go against this 'Zona team. They are maybe the most complete Arizona team I've ever seen. Utah and Oregon could both beat em though.
2 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Sunday 3/8/15 - 5:19:35 AM EST (GMT-5)
Big Ten - Purdue - Yeah it's a little bit nuts, but I say Matt Painter and Purdue take home the Big Ten title and take it away from Wisconsin. More wishful thinking than anything else I guess, I love when Wisconsin loses because it's so rare. I know Purdue has been on the supposed bubble for the whole season but if you watch them play, they are pretty nasty - they definitely "look like" a tournament team when you see them play. And if Wisconsin goes down to them or someone else, they seem like the hottest and most solid team right now (besides of course Maryland as well), and I think they take it. Though Dez Wells and Melo Trimble are also very solid at Maryland. Gonna be a good tourney with new addition of Maryland. (I forget if they were already there last year).

Other conf. tourneys

MVC -No. Iowa looks good to take it after Wichita got upset
WCC- Gonzaga won't lost twice to BYU
2 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Sunday 3/8/15 - 5:25:23 AM EST (GMT-5)
A-10 - Davidson is on a freakin' roll so I can't pick against them, though this tournament should be very entertaining with VCU's injuries pulling them back down to the rest of the pack. I just think Davidson's awesome offense gets them through the likes of teams like Dayton, Richmond, Rhode Island, and UMass, as well as this injury-laden VCU team. Davidson Wildcats get the autobid and go to the tourney

AAC - Cincinatti - Also kind of interesting, this one with the defending champs playing for their tournament lives. But they are not last year's team and Boatright doesn't have the surrounding help that Nappier did last year, so Uconn will be NIT-bound sadly. Cinci has got a solid bunch this year and while SMU finished on top and may be the best team all around, I think Cinci takes it. Besides Uconn, Tulsa, Memphis and everyone else likely also playing for their season.
2 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Sunday 3/8/15 - 5:30:57 AM EST (GMT-5)
Mountain West - San Diego St. - Gotta go with the experience of the Aztecs. They were a two seed in the NCAA Tournament not long ago (or was it a one?) I forget at this point but that kind of continued dominance and tradition is usually a good indicator of how a team will fair in big game situations such as tournament. SDSU will not lose to Boise a second time. Boise should get an at-large bid however along with Colorado St. I believe.

C-USA - Old Dominion - Ha, I hope ODU wins because they're a pretty good team and they are definitely not getting in without the automatic bid so...

Southland - Stephen F. Austin - Pullin' for these guys, the Lumberjacks? I think they're called. Best team in the conference by a landslide, amazing record they deserve to go dancing. And they would make for the best contender for an upset, so let's hope they win it.

So, who do you guys all have winning?
