After deeming trial constitutional, Senate prepares to hear evidence Wednesday

Senate upholds constitutionality of Trump impeachment trial after 6 Republicans vote with Democrats
2 months ago - Tuesday 2/9/21 - 6:32:53 PM EST (GMT-5)
"The vote was 56-44 with six Republicans joining every Democrat to go forward with the trial."

And this is exactly the way the vote will go at the end of the trial.

Because republicans have been cowed by trump and have no sense of duty to democracy or the country.

More likely trying to avoid partisan political theater...

That's a funny way of saying "accountability for his actions."

So you believe that a president is allowed to do anything they want the month prior to leaving office and not be held responsible for it. I’m sure that wouldn’t have any disastrous consequences you useful idiot.

An impeachment after leaving office wouldn’t prevent a president from doing radical things prior to leaving office. And if he does something illegal, that would be handled by our justice system, not by politicians.

The point is to 1) have accountability 2) remove his ability to run in the future.

You pretending this isn’t the appropriate avenue to do so is utter nonsense. He was impeached prior to leaving office and impeachment’s are followed by trials in the senate. Those are the rules. If you have an issue with it maybe take a hike to a country more to your liking.

Sounds like the Lefties are deathly afraid of Trump running again. Trump will be 78 years old in 4 years- - who in their right mind would elect a 78 year old person to be President?

The point of impeachment is removal from office. Preventing him from running again is a consequence of that, it’s not the reason to have an impeachment.

When this sham of a trial is over, Trump should announce he will run again. See you in 2024 bitches!

I think he announced he was on twitter. Check it out:

Of course we don’t want trump running again. He’s proven that when he rallies people he instigates violence. And the point of impeachment is not just removal. That argument has already failed.

It shouldn’t have. It’s the difference between the spirit of the law and the letter of the law.

Your opinion that it shouldn’t have had no weight on reality. Sorry kiddo.

I know. You can argue 2+2=4 and Democrats would disagree.

Whatever useless thing you need to tell yourself to feel better about being wrong.

They’re showing video from the Capitol riot and it is worse than we thought. These maniacs were out for blood.
2 months ago - Wednesday 2/10/21 - 5:35:23 PM EST (GMT-5)
Just a distraction though. The real question is if Trump incited them or not.

The rioting obviously was not a spur of the moment decision- - many of the rioters came to Washington with plans to do bad things...

They all spontaneously turned up at the same time?
2 months ago - Wednesday 2/10/21 - 5:46:25 PM EST (GMT-5)
And why did they come to the Capital planning to do bad things? Perhaps someone lied to them repeatedly that the election was stolen and that they had to fight or they’d lose their country. Hmmmmmm

The thing I’ve learned the most from CD and Noldor is that people can be devoid of the ability to identify cause and effect if their stunted political views depend on it.

No worse than the inflammatory language used by the Left to rally their base...

Suresies kid. When did “the left” storm the Capitol to subvert democracy?
