Twitter permanently suspended an account associated with former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon after he suggested in a video posted online Thursday that Dr. Anthony Fauci and FBI Director Christopher Wray should be beheaded.

Bannon made the comments calling for medieval violence during a livestream of his talk show and podcast, War Room: Pandemic.

"I'd put the heads on pikes. Right. I'd put them at the two corners of the White House. As a warning to federal bureaucrats: Either get with the program or you're gone," he said in the now-deleted video previously posted on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
...
Facebook and YouTube removed the video, saying it violated their policies against inciting violence and harassment. (Spotify also removed audio from the episode)

That is true.

Next thing you know they'll want to punish people for shooting protesters.

Interesting- - I didn't think twitter cared about beheading related tweets...

Just for the record. You'd want Griffin's violence phantasy to be deleted too or you'd want Bannon's violence phantasies to not be deleted?

They are both similar things. I don't believe either is actually calling for a beheading (I hope not). But if you permanently suspend one account, you should permanently suspend the other, just to be consistent.

Personally, If I were in control of Twitter, I don't think either should be banned unless they were seriously calling for beheadings/murder.

No, Steve Bannon was literally saying he'd like to see Fauci and Wray beheaded and their heads put on pikes as a warning to others.

"Second term kicks off with firing Wray, firing Fauci.

Now I actually want to go a step farther but I realize the president is a kind-hearted man and a good man. I'd actually like to go back to the old times of Tudor England, I'd put the heads on pikes, right, I'd put them at the two corners of the White House as a warning to federal bureaucrats. You either get with the program or you're gone - - time to stop playing games. blow it all up, put Ric Grenell today as the interim head of the FBI, that'll light them up, right."

I think the two are very similar. Bannon wants to see Fauci and Wray beheaded, Griffin reiterated her desire to see Trump beheaded.

One account gets suspended permanently, the other does not even get her post removed.

Wow, I guess they're both calling for a beheading.

He 'literally would like to see them beheaded', but never actually uses the term 'beheaded'? Are you sure he's not speaking figuratively about wanting them to be fired, with those firings being a warning to others to "get with the program or you're gone"?

Griffin on the other hand, made it pretty clear that she wanted a literal beheading of the President...

Yes, because everything comedians say and to us supposed to be taken litterally.

She wasn't doing it on stage as part of a comedy routine. She tweeted a decapitated Trump photo (the same one she got into trouble for when she first tweeted it).

Why shouldn't it be treated the same as Bannon's comment?

You said she literally wanted him beheaded. It was hyperbole just like Bannon. Neither should be banned.

And the world is her stage. She's a celebrity.

Not so sure it was hyperbole...

I have no issue with both being considered hyperbole and no action taken. My point was that the two were not being treated equally- - if one violates the TOS for Twitter, they both should.

I do think there is a difference between political showboating that could be construed as incitement among people who might be inclined to take up the call and a mocking throw away line by a comic.

It's the same with the Electoral Fraud. if some random Noldor declares there's electoral fraud, the effect is insignificant compared to the President announcing it.

Not exactly a 'mocking throw away line'...

quibble away. She's still not a f*cking president.
