Conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer has decisively won the Republican primary for the U.S. House of Representatives seat that represents President Trump's Mar-a-Lago club in Florida.

The district, currently represented by Democratic Congresswoman Lois Frankel, is heavily Democratic, so her chances of winning the seat in November are slim. But Loomer's overwhelming victory against five other Republican rivals was decisive.

Loomer was endorsed by Representative Matt Gaetz, a firebrand Trump supporter from Florida.

Let it be known that the Republican party has decided that "lunatic" is their brand.

We are all crazy here.

Calling Matt Gaetz a "firebrand" is awfully kind/generous.

Of course, anyone who'd ever heard of Laura Looney knew what she was already. It's sad that this many people, even Republicans, voted for her.

I was wondering whatever happened to her

That's right; you used to be a defender of hers.

I think I defended her on the grounds that she shouldn't have been banned from Twitter and YouTube and such on the basis that she's considered right wing. I don't remember actually.

She’s not banned from YouTube, and she’s banned from Twitter for hate speech not her politics (unless you think hate is inherent In right wing politics).

"Someone needs to create a non Islamic form of Uber or Lyft because I never want to support another Islamic immigrant driver," Loomer tweeted, tagging both companies in the post.

¯\_(?)_/¯ don't be a hateful bigot if you might need a ride. She deserves what she gets.

This was in the forefront of the news at one time. Twitter, YouTube, Facebook were unfairly banning ideas from the right. It's not illegal for them to do so, but it's a question of fairness. (She does go out on a limb with her Islamic immigrant comment) (hey girl, you're on your own with that one)

That’s a lot of words to acknowledge that you were wrong about her being banned from YouTube and wrong about her being discriminated against for her political beliefs.

What exactly is hate speech to the left? It's any speech they don't like. It's why liberals can define it.

Here is the exact quote she was banned for, "Ilhan is pro Sharia, Ilhan is pro- FGM. Under Sharia homosexuals are oppressed & killed. Women are abused & forced to wear the hijab. Ilhan is anti Jewish," How is that different from what the left calls Trump everyday? Also, doesn't Sharia Law oppress women and homosexuals?

And if a Black person said, "Someone needs to create a non-White form of Uber or Lyft because I never want to support another White driver", it would be embraced by the left.

If you read my original post I clearly said "I think" and "I don't remember actually." It turns out she wasn't banned from YouTube but was banned from Twitter and Facebook because of her political views.

No, she was banned from Twitter and Facebook for hate speech. As courtbebe already explained.

Hate speech is all relative. It's why the left can't define it.

There are degrees in sharia. You're jumping to extreme.

In fact, you've been doing that for almost 20 years.

What happened to the little girl?

Trump is an individual.

I don't see people attacking Trump because he belongs to a particular protected demographic group (such as Christians) and then vilifying that group in general and Trump by association.

That's the difference.

If she wrote Trump is pro-Jew and then listed a number of slurs against Jews, then she would be banned too, irregardless of whether any Jews actually fitting the accusations aimed at Jews in her rant were technically correct.

A bit like Trump calling Mexicans rapists and criminals.
