The White House has given the green light to a Turkish offensive into northern Syria, moving US forces out of the area in an abrupt foreign policy change that will in effect abandon Washington’s longtime allies, the Kurds.
Kurdish forces have spearheaded the campaign against Islamic State in the region, but the policy swerve, after a phone conversation between Donald Trump and Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday, means Turkey would take custody of captured Isis fighters, the White House said.

It has also raised fears of fresh fighting between Turkey and Kurdish forces in Syria’s complex war now the US no longer acts as a buffer between the two sides.

This is so unbelievably awful of Trump. Kurds will die. This will damage to the US’s reputation. How can our allies trust us if our president will side with a dictator over them.

And what specifically was it that convinced Trump to nuke our relationship with a longtime ally? Was it just flattery by Erdogan? A promise to help Trump politically?

This is exactly what Russia wanted when it pushed for Trump to get elected– the destruction of the US’s reputation.

Turkey promised to investigate the Biden's if it was allowed to invade Syria.

It's pretty rare that both parties are in agreement on a foreign policy decision of this magnitude, but it's basically not debatable that the Kurds are going to be massacred.

How is he even remotely justifying this horrible decision?

Trump defended his decision, saying the Kurds were “paid massive amounts of money and equipment” to fight and that he was leaving the fight against Isis to others for the time being.

“We are 7,000 miles away,” he tweeted, while vowing to crush the extremist movement “if they come anywhere near us”.

What a dratwit.

This isn't really telling how bad it actually is. The Kurds were talked into dismantling some forward defense outposts that were deterring incursion by Turkey. And now that they're gone we're walking away.... We told them to unlock the door and we'd watch the house, knowing there was a murderer waiting outside and then we left.

Well, at least dumbass in chief will get more dirt on Biden who isn't going to win the Democratic primary anyway. And all it will cost us is our last ally in the area and lives of non white people.

Yup. Only a few months ago.

We tricked them into assisting in their own demise.

"I've done before!" What the actual f*ck is this complete and utter moron talking about?

"great and unmatched wisdom"? Seriously this dude needs to go if not for the crimes he has committed at least for how incredibly stupid and douchey he is.

He’s far pasted insane. He just said the Speaker of the House committed treason by exercising constitutional oversight powers and investigating him.

The worst thing is, though, even if he’s impeached and removed from office or the 25th Amendment is invoked and he’s removed, we’re stuck with politicians who sided with him over the country for years and millions of Americans with such poor judgment they revered him.

President Rump Twittered: "in my great and unmatched wisdom"

Omg, How can so many republicans still support this man.
I really thought that twitter was a joke, but it is real.

That was pretty douchey. I can’t remember any other President touting how great his wisdom is.

On the other hand, maybe this is the last straw on the camel's back.

Looks like most of the elected republicans in Washington know this is one dumbass move, and are pissed.

Lindsey Graham on Trump’s decision to withdrawal US troops from Syria– It’s Obama’s fault and also, somehow, 9/11 is Obama’s fault

I mean, I'll give Lindsey Graham this. He knows how easy trump is to manipulate. He went with the "this is what Obama would do" tactic.

Who is the last world leader to refer to himself in terms like Trump is using? I genuinely can't remember the last time a leader who wasn't a dictator engaged in this level of self-aggrandizement.

That’s a very generous interpretation.

My interpretation: He got scared that his previous remarks were too critical of Trump so he fell back on the GOP favorite of blaming Obama (or Democrats or Clinton or socialism or her emails).

I just don't know how anyone can read Trump's tweets or listen to him talk for more than 5 minutes and think that "This is a guy who knows what he's doing." At least fall in line behind someone charismatic and well-spoken.

When has another president said "in my UNMATCHED wisdom"? This dude is a f*cking moron. And worse, he is the kind of moron who thinks he is smart. He's the kind of person who has no interest in the opinions of experts, or more experienced people.

So basically he is the poster child for GOP voters.
