This has real-life consequences for Amash. He sits on the House Oversight Committee and will likely lose that appointment. He could of course also lose re-election in 2020 because of this.

I certainly don't agree with him on many things (at heart, his policy positions are still pretty standard GOP, no matter what the letter by his name is), but he's been far more principled than most Republicans, and I do admire that.

Yeah, worth mentioning that Amash was the one and only Republican member of congress to publicly come out in support of starting impeachment proceedings.
