There's a LOT, so summary:

• Oliver North (outgoing president) tried to oust Wayne LaPierre (CEO and Exec. VP, also the guy you see on TV most often) over allegations of misuse of finances, including spending over $200k on clothing

• It didn't work, so now North is out as pres., LaPierre was re-elected (unanimously!) and they have a new president (some woman I've never heard of)

• The NY AG is investigating the NRA's finances, possibly in relation to the same misconduct North alleged, but we don't know for sure

• Trump tweeted (of course) that NYAG was "illegally" investigating the NRA, which...is not based in reality at all; that's legitimately their job

• They're also accused of improperly coordinating spending with the Trump campaign and other GOP campaigns, which is an FEC

Documents have leaked showing Wayne LaPierre's extravagant spending habits:

https://www.wsj.com/articles/leaked...

National Rifle Association Chief Executive Wayne LaPierre billed the group’s ad agency $39,000 for one day of shopping at a Beverly Hills clothing boutique, $18,300 for a car and driver in Europe and had the agency cover $13,800 in rent for a summer intern, according to newly revealed NRA internal documents.

You know it’s bad when Oliver North is the good guy.

better characterized as not the most evil person in the room

So I kind of suspected that a trump presidency would be bad for the NRA financially. It just makes sense that if you can't claim the president is coming after your guns then funding would suffer. But I never imagined it would be as fun as the top levels of leadership at each other's throats.
