From the other thread:

“Mark Levin: ‘just because a prosecutor says that somebody violated a campaign law doesn’t make it so. He is not the judge. He is not the jury. We didn’t adjudicate anything.’”

This statement is... misleading. For one thing, he’s only focusing on the prosecutor and completely ignoring Cohen, a lawyer (a bad lawyer, but still), who pleaded guilty; Cohen’s defense attorney who allowed Cohen to plead guilty; and the judge who signed off on everything. And there is also the prosecutor who, having access to all the evidence and legal training and experience, thought there was both evidence of a crime and evidence of Cohen’s guilt to warrant prosecution. All of these people (the prosecutor, the defendant, defense counsel, and the judge) were on the same page regarding the evidence, Cohen’s confession, and Cohen’s guilty plea.

Levin’s statement was legally and logically meaningless.

I’m assuming it was intended as a life preserver for Trump supporters to cling to or as gobbledygook that sounds vaguely legal for Trump supporters to throw around to imply some nefarious conspiracy theory.

What?!? Are you really saying the author of "Men In Black: How The Supreme Court is Destroying America" might not be in line with "mainstream law interpretation"?!
I'm shocked!

Another day, another guilty plea (NBC)

Russian operative Maria Butina admitted Thursday to conspiring to infiltrate influential conservative organizations, including the National Rifle Association, in an effort to push Moscow's agenda.

Butina, 30, who has agreed to cooperate with federal prosecutors, pleaded guilty in a Washington courtroom to one count of conspiracy to violate the law governing foreign agents operating in the U.S.

(Perry Mason voice) I put it to you Ms. Courtbebe, isn't it possible they could all be wrong? A simple yes or no will do.

What? Like Cohen’s mistaken about his own actions? Are you high?

Y'know, someone once told me this bit of wisdom. He said that in any given situation, the explanation that makes the most sense is usually closest to the truth.

Cohen pleading guilty if he wasn't guilty doesn't make sense. His lawyer advising him to plead guilty wouldn't make sense either. A judge signing off on it would likewise not make sense.

Alan Dershowitz is a lawyer, too (and a Harvard prof. emeritus for that matter), but that doesn't mean he doesn't say some dumb, illogical, fantasyland bullsh*t in defense of Trump (and therefore shouldn't be taken seriously whatsoever on any issue relating to Trump or the Mueller investigation).

That’s the other lawyer who also said no campaign laws were broken. But what do they know right?

Yeah, Epsteins lawyer and frequent Hannity guest certainly DOESNT have any interest in spinning the pro Trump angle...

Oh I don't think Dershowitz is dumb. I think he's legitimately a bad person, because he absolutely knows better than the bullsh*t he spews on Fox News, but it makes him $$ and keeps people like you from looking too hard into the fact that he's named in sworn affidavits by women who say he raped them at Epstein parties when they were underage.

Cohen’s a lawyer. He has admitted to a crime and plead guilty. He’s going to serve 3 years in prison.

The prosecutor’s a lawyer. He/she had access to all the evidence against Cohen, including Cohen’s confession.

Cohen’s lawyer is a lawyer. He saw the government’s case and got his client’s story.

The judge is a lawyer.

But yeah, I’m sure Levin and Dershowitz are in a better position to know if a crime was committed & if Cohen committed it.

There is no conspiracy here. There are records of the shell corporations Cohen set up, there are bank records, there are NDAs, there are tape recordings, there are FEC filings, there are witnesses, there are public statements made by people involved in the case, and there’s a f*cking confession.

If you think this is a conspiracy, you need supervision. You cannot he trusted to drive or use the stove or cross the street by yourself.

https://www.wsj.com/articles/trump-...

Federal prosecutors in Manhattan are investigating whether President Trump’s 2017 inaugural committee misspent some of the record $107 million it raised from donations, people familiar with the matter said.

The criminal probe by the Manhattan U.S. attorney’s office, which is in its early stages, also is examining whether some of the committee’s top donors gave money in exchange for access to the incoming Trump administration, policy concessions or to influence official administration positions, some of the people said.

Giving money in exchange for political favors could run afoul of federal corruption laws. Diverting funds from the organization, which was registered as a nonprofit, could also violate federal law.

It makes a lot of sense though... I mean.. That is that it makes sense if you're trump. Kushner is your wimpy son in law. He wouldn't be able to do the managing of trumps worst instincts that Kelly was likely handling. He probably wouldn't gate keep as well as Kelly did. Its a win for trump. He gets the free-for-all that he wants.

Kelly did absolutely nothing to rein in Trump's worst instincts, and I say good riddance to him.

This is the guy who said, of migrant children taken from their parents, "they'll be in foster care or whatever."

F*ck John Kelly.

Not trying to defend Kelly. But my guess is that he did a lot of things that trump didn't like that included gate keeping, and telling him no in a lot of situations.
