I think this is a really dangerous attitude to take. I'm not surprised it *made news* given his two main occupations in life, but it is a huge mistake to assume that things like this are somehow more prevalent in either entertainment or politics. Sexual harassment happens in every single industry. It just doesn't make national headlines when it's a Target store manager or a restaurant owner.

It’s also rampant in the military.

Yep, and they are some of the worst about trying to sweep it under the rug.

And as should be noted sexual harassers and predators can and have been women as well.

I can admit that i’ve Been a Sh*tty man before, not proud of it, but at least I recognize and regret it.

Yes, they can, but the vast majority of cases (both in the workplace and outside of it) involve men doing the harassing, and women being the victim.

He apologized, she accepted. She says she's not calling for an ethics investigation, or for him to step down, but she told her story in hopes that it would inspire other women to tell theirs (seems like she means that in general, not necessarily about Franken in particular).

if people feel remorse for something like this, the victim accepts the apology, and that person aims to be better, then I’m pretty much good with the situation

now, I hope this starts inspiring the men who do this sh-t to take the initiative to apologize for their actions and work to be better instead of it always needing to be dragged out into the light first

Without a doubt.

The other day I was looking at the sex offender list for my area ( which I somehow got to while looking for auctions of seized government property) there was maybe 1 woman for every 100 guys.

Also the number of molestors in my general area are staggering.

You mean like plenty of people did today? Lots of democrats were calling for him to resign, or for there to be a senate ethics investigation at the very least.

Schumer
Duckworth
Durbin
Klobuchar
Warren
McCaskill
Whitehouse

That's just off the top of my head - Senate Dems who called for an ethics probe. I'm sure there were probably more. And Franken himself agreed there should be one, and said he would "gladly cooperate" with it.

Meanwhile the Alabama GOP is still backing an accused child molester/sexual assaulter for the open senate seat there.
