I really don't think tweeting about a taco bowl on cinco de mayo is anywhere close to the most egregious thing he's ever said, racism-wise.

I know. That was supposed to be representative of his most egregious remarks. That why I feel he’s so casually racist. He say racists things even when he’s clearly trying not to. I just don’t quite feel he’s aligned himself with any particular movement in so much as I don’t believe he adheres to any ideology.

i think trump galvanizes the far right, but those people held those views long before he became president.

And also, he says and does lots of racist things.

Like proposing the continuation of the border wall between the US and Mexico?

How does that even qualify as being racist? Damn, people are so touchy these days.

didn't bill clinton also propose a border wall? i remember him saying we needed to enforce immigration laws as well. but if trump says it, it's apparently racist?

If there's any question in your mind about whether or not Trump has emboldened racists through his rhetoric, there's nothing I can say that will change your mind.

But just for fun, let's walk through some anyway:

-He said that when Mexico sends its people, they're sending rapists and criminals
-He claimed a federal judge was biased because he was Mexican
-He insulted a gold star family by saying that a soldier's mom was unable to speak because of religion
-He started his political career by questioning the birth status of our president
-After violence erupted in Charlottesville between white supremacists and those that came out to protest them, he claimed that there were fine people on both sides
-His company has been called out multiple times for discrimination against black people
-He pledged to ban all Muslims from entering the country

Perhaps you can explain why those things define someone as a racist.

Questioning the birth status of someone that has a foreign father and had lived most of his childhood outside of the US doesn't make someone a racist.

Claiming that a judge was biased because of his ancestry doesn't make someone a racist, particularly when the case involves the deportation of a person having similar ancestry.

Etc.

#7 was that a different time to when he tried to ban all people from 7 predominently Muslim countries from entering the country?

I think you have the closed mind Spoon, otherwise you would have no problem explaining why those things define someone as racist.l
